> Saturday’s morning skate was like a receiving line, with Dumba stopping to talk with everyone from arena security to Minnesota Wild staff members. He also had a special meet and greet with kids from Mosaic Hockey Collective, a program that empowers players of color with resources to grow the game. “They’re close to my heart,” he said.
> But Dumba certainly appreciated the love. In some ways, the Twin Cities will always feel like home. “Everything that this city has given me, I’m thankful for that,” Dumba said. “I have a lot of gratitude to my time here and the man it’s made me.”
> Dumba took pride in giving back while in Minnesota, and said his “Hockey Without Limits” camp will continue next month on Feb. 18. Former Wild teammates Connor Dewar and Brandon Duhaime will help facilitate a fourth annual event that offers opportunity for youth hockey players of all backgrounds.
> Fellow former Wild teammate Nick Bjugstad is a key reason why Dumba is in Arizona. Bjugstad kept trying to sell Dumba on signing with the Coyotes in free agency because of the impact playing there has had on his own career.
