FYI – Per the NHL (via Russo), The Wild can’t be used as a third team in a trade to retain money in exchange for picks while using LTIR.

  1. I’ve seen a lot of people suggest this recently as their idea of our best course of action going into the deadline. While we don’t have much room left under the Accruable Cap Space Limit to begin with, the idea of buying picks with small amouts of cash and unused cap space is off the table with this decision from the NHL.

  2. So basically trading Duhaime for a pick is our only hope of salvaging this season
