  1. Pronman had us picking Parekh, which I would be ecstatic about. There’s definitely some talent at 13, assuming we don’t move down, and we couldn’t go wrong with BPA. If we feel like we need to shore up our D, the emergence of Solberg would give us an option for a decent bet 2nd pair guy, or we could hope that someone like Parekh or Yakemchuk is still available. There may be LWs like Iginla and Eiserman available, or a RW like Sennecke (although he seems to be a big riser and may go top 10 now) and MB Nygaard. The Cs are probably not the play, but Catton would be decent if he’s available, and Helenius looks to be easily projectable into the NHL, although pretty unexciting. I think we’ll be happy with whoever we pick though

  2. There’s a 6’7” Russian left shot d-man that would be great. But any of the top 6 D would be more than okay with me. I like Yakemchuk a lot, and obviously is less of a concern as far as getting him into the system ASAP, compared to a Russian

  3. The team has 2 major needs now and in the future: Defencemen and Wingers. Lucky for them this draft has reasonable options for both at 13 between Jiricek, Buium, Solberg, and Parekh at D, and Eiserman, Brandsegg Nygård, and Sennecke on the wing. One of them is guaranteed to be available when the Wild pick so long as they remain in their slot.

The main thing I’d be worried about is Guerin overriding his staff again and picking a major reach for the slot. I’d keep an eye on Dean Letourneau if he does that. Massive center and a BC commit generally considered a 2nd rounder. If the Wild look to move down, I suspect it’s to pick him.
