Got 4 tickets!!!
Tickets went on sale on Monday at 8am local for club members and then NBA season ticket holders. By 7pm there were 6 full season tickets remaining in the lower bowl (granted the lower bowl is nothing compared to other barns, since we have to EuroBarklays the ends), a couple handfuls of half season tickets and equally as many club level seats at $40k / season remaining. The sight lines in this place are soo awful, wish they would just build a new arena, I can’t see how they bring it to the level of a real NHL arena.
Today (Tuesday) is for more club and NBA ticket holder sales, and then Wednesday starts into the real hockey players, fans, and community. It doesn’t seem like there will be much left once it gets to them.
Very disappointing, especially for those fans that have supported hockey in Utah since the days of the Golden Eagles, or the players who still lace them up for beer league, even though their kids have now been drafted into the old man’s game. After paying for travel hockey for their kids the past 20+ years, while sacrificing to help make/keep hockey relevant in Utah, they will be left paying $70/ a game for tickets where you can barely see ice on the near side, even though your 250 feet away, $16/ for a beer, $20 for parking.
I’m happy the team is here, I’m happy I got four seats for our group to go together and support the team, but I sure wish it was more like the Sunday game in Mystery or at least you could get lower bowl season tickets without auctioning a body part or selling all your gear and never playing again.
If you read this Ryan Smith, take a section in the lower bowl (after the remodel) and sell the seats exclusively to people older than 30 that still gear up on the regular – that’s the section I want to be in, and put the dudes still playing at over 60 where ever the hell they want. I hope the game day production team has been watching or attending every arena during the playoffs, make sure you have a killer product all around the arena and throughout the game (military support, visuals, fan engagement, etc. ) please do this right, especially the jerseys, for the love of all that is holy no Utah Jazz Highlighter yellow bs. It’s bad enough we are all paying far too much for terrible views of the game for the next few years. Support the community and fans back. Acknowledge the shortcomings and engage with the fans on solutions (don’t just use software and spying to determine how to sell patrons more stuff).
Sorry for the rant, had too many good friends who moved heaven and earth to free up funds to pay for lower bowl seats, their dream, only to have the tickets sold to corp. interest days before anyone else got a chance to put their money down (well other than the interest free loan /deposit)

Now, I am I’ve the moon excited to finally be a season ticket holder to an NHL team.

First love will always be first love, go Bolts, but 40 games a year I’m in the building screaming for our hometown team. Can’t wait for schedule release!

  1. Pissed they did that with corporations, Just let’s you know SEG isn’t about the state of Utah, he’s about the state of Utahs money in his pockets. After going through my interview I told them to kick rocks. They aren’t about improving the city, they are about filling their pockets, “ and if you don’t pay 9k a ticket for 21 games with bar in front of your face, for the next 4 years don’t count on getting seasons tickets again”

  2. It’s a fantasy even thinking to ask big business to consider bringing costs down to what an average joe could afford or even to consider its customers anywhere that doesn’t put the most money in their pockets. I wish failure for SEG

  3. FWIW my time slot was 5 pm on Saturday, so tickets were going as early as then. Got the same 2 seats where my Jazz tickets are! 🙌

  4. Please if they want a killer product get rid of the absurd pandering bullshit like military support. It’s about the hockey not whatever the cause of the week is.

  5. Are they going to fix those seats in the corner? Imagine having to turn your head 90 degrees to see if someone scores? Good lord.

  6. You do realize your team sucks and you will be lucky to catch a win here and there. I know it sounds exciting but the novelty will wear off once you see a ton of losses in a row.

  7. New arena will get built when and if the IOC grants the Winter Olympics to SLC again, Smith has a deal lined up with the politicians.

  8. Funny- I didn’t see *Est. 2024* on any of the name lists. Bold choice.

  9. You’re also gonna pay something like $225 per year in extra taxes to support the arena plans if SLC passes the project

  10. $40k a year for club seats? WTF. The Avalanche have row 1 on the glass for $16k a year.
