Fuck it. Let’s just mainline the hopium. It’s not like we have anything else left.
lol, I’m gonna laugh my ass off if he fucks Muerello. I don’t even care anymore , at this point I just want to watch it all burn.
There could be a number of legit reasons he’d be interested in building an arena that aren’t specifically Coyotes, either. He could want to build a dedicated facility for the Mercury and maybe even the Valley Suns (G-League). Or maybe a new Practice facility (I’ve heard comments that the one Sarver built on 44th St is pretty small by league standards and was a “bare minimum” deal for Sarver).
That being said, if he built something that, just by coincidence, happened to be able to accommodate a future hockey team in the future (but not explicitly stated as that right away), that would obviously be very good for us.
Ishbia is a terrible owner too, obviously would be better than Meruelo if he was able to get a team but he’s driving the suns into the ground
So like.. Isn’t ishbia also the guy who sells land to rich people?
Funny enough this might be a better outcome than Muruelo getting the land.
He expressed interest in buying the Coyotes in the past too. Footprint is gonna turn 40 in 2032 so why not scoop up some prime land now and seal the deal with having 2 major teams play there?
Meruelo is cooked if Ishbia truly wants the land and doesn’t just wanna run the price up. I’m sure Meruelo has others going in on this with him, but Ishbia is “fuck you” rich.
Edit to add that PHNX Suns lead writer followed up and said their source said Ishbia is not involved and there’s not truth to the rumor
