Finals ratings up but not by much. But wonder if the increase is because it’s on a network channel (ABC) in which everyone receives vs a cable channel (TNT) in which some people don’t have.

  1. Boggles the mind that the NHL were cool with letting the Stanley Cup Final air on a channel that a lot of people might not have access to every other year.

  2. Would have been amazing if game 7 started tonight (Sunday) at 6 or 7p ET.

  3. I haven’t watched the Stanley cup finals since I played youth hockey in the 90s but I’m for sure tuning in Monday night.

  4. I heard games 5-6 did like 4 million views in the US, I think game 7 is gonna do 6 million there’s been ppl in my state who don’t watch hockey that have even been talking about it

  5. It should be noted this year’s U.S. ratings are negatively impacted by only having one home market team (Florida/Miami) playing in the Stanley Cup Finals rather than two.

Conversely, the Canadian TV ratings are positively impacted by the same factor (due to a Canada-based team playing in the Stanley Cup Finals, unlike the last two years).

  6. I think the US ratings aren’t bad for one of the teams being a small market from outside the US.

  7. It’s a 13% increase in viewership, I wouldn’t say that’s “not much”
