[Russo] One #mnwild pending UFA going to market a week from today is Dakota Mermis. He loved his 4 years with the organization, but after 47 games last season, he’s earned the right to pursue a one-way contract in free agency. MN has 7 D locked so can’t offer that w cap/roster situation.

Solid depth D I wish him well to find that one way contract
When the Wild kept playing Merrill and Goligoski instead of Mermis it broke my brain, I’d take Mermis over either of them 10/10 times. I hope he finds an organization that gives him the time of day, he’s worth of a third pairing slot somewhere.
Wish him luck on his next team, but frankly I am pretty happy to see him gone. He just didn’t seem to fit in with anyone in our lineup and he struggled to make the correct reads for a vast majority of the season. Puck skills are solid, skating is fine, but the mental aspect is not where it needs to be for a depth player, he was far too erratic in his role when stability was all that was needed.
Mermis was what he was: journeyman depth. Being a replacement for Goligoski and Merrill wasn’t high praise. He did what he could with the time he had. Chisholm offers more.
I dont mind losing him.
Guessing that he didn’t really fit into their plans or would have been offered another two way deal. Good for him – hope he gets his deal.
Who’s the 7th? Spurgeon, Brodin, Middleton, Faber, Merrill, Bogosian, and who else? Have we signed Declan or does he mean another call up guy?
