did yesterday and uh real quickly we did uh we did not do well we did not do well at all as Mr Le says yeah not good good um two problems two problems with uh yesterday’s San Diego play uh first of all Waldren not good not good not awful but not good uh gave up gave up four runs and two homers and bigger problem was the complete lack of offense by the Padres that vanted Trio of left-handers to start their lineup Ray profar and konorth went to for 11 with no extra base hits thanks for nothing we really really appreciate it so uh yeah that’s how that’s how you lose four to one but you know what it’s a new week it’s a new half year it’s a new half season let’s get to it shall we um I know a lot of you guys don’t like to play unders you like to see some run scored you don’t like to root for unders well if I got a pick for you today uh we’re going to go west and look at the Milwaukee Colorado game and we’re going to take over the total of 11 a half there you go I’ve seen worse in cor field this going to be Bryce Wilson going against Austin gomber for the Rockies yes Austin gomber still a major league pitcher um you know Bryce Wilson is a guy who’s bounced between the rotation and the bullpen this season he’s got 10 relief appearances and nine starts you look at his stats from 10,000 ft they don’t look bad 389 ra 123 whip that ain’t what we do around here guys we like to do a little deep dive and when the first thing you do when you do your Deep dive is you notice there’s some serious home road splits at home 216 ER 117 whip on the road 531 that’s right 3.15 runs more on the road than at home and a 128 whip whip not too much bigger than the home whip so why is the difference in ER well cuz he gives twice gives up twice as many home runs on the road as he does at home and that makes a big difference but go even deeper uh you got to look at his recent performances he had a fantastic start here in Kansas City on May the 6th giving up just one hit in six Innings but since then he has been a shite uh he’s made five Road appearances four of those have been starts and one was a game where he took over with two outs in the first and pitched through the sixth and those numbers are fugly kid 7.06 ra and a 142 whip as far as Austin gber goes well for the first two months of the Season believe it or not he actually looked like a competent major league pitcher 2.76 ER and a 111 whip at the end of May unfortunately for the last month of the Season he’s looked a lot like well Austin gomber uh 939 erra 183 whip in those five starts yikes uh the Brewers well you know what they’ve got a good pen but the Rockies they don’t and the other problem is get guys out of the pen they throw hard throw a lot of for seamers and those are the guys that struggle K field contrary to popular belief uh it is not the breaking ball that suffers the most at C field it’s four seam fast ball I broke this down really in depth on a video where I had no audio so I’m going to give you the short version all right right four seam fast ball you throw across the seams when you throw it you come over to the top you spin the ball backwards and that backwards spin is what keeps it up in the zone you know you throw they often call it a rising fast ball uh if you know physics you know a rising fast ball is not a thing uh gravity and uh second law of physics in motion acted on anyway the being acted on by the atmosphere and by gravity so the ball is going to automatically drop when you spin it backwards it causes less drop so it stays up in the zone for a longer period of Time problem is when you get to Colorado the atmosphere cuts down on the spin we cut down on the spin of for steam fastball spins less drops more you don’t want it to drop more you want it high in the zone because in the middle of the Zone it’s a very hitable pitch and that’s what happens so we got a little Ace in the Hole when it comes to our hard throwing Bullpen guys all right I like this play we’re going to have to do a lot of the damage early by the end of the fifth inning I’d like to be somewhere in the in the seven to eight range I think that’ll get us home and I do think we’re going to get that two starting pitchers I have zero trust in either one of them right now give me the Milwaukee Brewers Colorado Rockies over 11 and a half and at the end of that one you guys can join me as we
