History proves possible Eagles’ draft ‘mistake’ isn’t a mistake at all philadelphia eagles espn

talk about him and the notable person we’re starting with this year is our Chris KY who went on ESPN radio’s on Sportsman like went on it’s his show he was already on he had a strong take on the effect a Chief’s three repeat would have on Patrick Mahomes Legacy here’s Chris I mean if he wins three championships in a row in the NFL in a league that is designed more so than any of these other sports leagues to have parody if he wins three in a row given all of the different iterations of the Kansas City Chiefs that we’ve seen then he’s the damn goat lot to unpack there including the sunglasses but what what uh what do you think talk to me in 2038 which will be the year that momes is 43 years old which is the year that Tom Brady won his most recent and last presumably Super Bowl the way that Tom Brady’s career unfolded was a football miracle and a football success story that I think we’ve never seen in sports okay uh the way he reinvented certain positions on the field reinvented offense redeemed himself in 2007 and essentially uh reinvented the way we think about offense in the NFL mahomes’s career has a lot of twists and turns to go he he has four more rings to catch Brady I just think we he has started the goat debate we didn’t think was possible but I don’t think he can be the goat this time next year that’s impossible and so no I completely all respect to Chris KY went on to show yesterday love the sunglass look this this this debate cannot end in a couple of months Harry your thoughts well a three Pat with would mean a lot because no one since the merger has been able to do that and when I look at Patrick Mahomes if he’s able to win another Super Bowl this season that would be seven straight AFC championship games five Super Bowl appearances in the last six years winning four of those he already has three Super Bowl MVPs so he probably will have four at that point as well when I look at Patrick Mahomes also he’s a guy that has not passed for less than 65% in any season he’s had two 5,000 yard seasons in his first season as a starter he passed for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns we’re talking about a guy right now that just changes the game looks different doing it but let’s not forget the athleticism of Patrick Mahomes the pivotal runs it’s the run against the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship game right before halftime uh some time ago it’s also the run against Joe burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game on third and four that picks up a first down and he gets a personal foul on the Bengals defense to kick that game winning field goal to go to the Super Bowl it’s also last year versus the Miami Dolphins on a fourth and four situation where Patrick Mahomes is able to scramble and pick up a first down right before halftime as well so when you look at the trajectory that he’s on is he if he’s able to do something that hasn’t been done since the merger I’m deeming him the goat as well I’m with Chris KY wow H Brady was pretty good as well by the way he did a lot of things a lot of AFC Title Games hold say doesn’t math count like isn’t seven more hey at least Harry’s One Thing Harry said I agree with that Brady couldn’t run like Mahomes there’s no question about that moving on the defending NFC champion 49ers have some uncertainty surrounding star wide receiver Brandon auk auk recently appeared on the pivot podcast and had this to say about his future what uniform is Brandon auk wearing in 2024 if I were to take a GU probably proba probably a Niner uniform probably a Niner uniform I mean if not a Niner uniform probably a Washington Commander uniform if not a Washington Commander uniform probably a Steelers uniform it it it seems to me like Brandon’s been reading the coverage right like it seems like there’s a couple of that’s what’s been out there as the possible destination should the 49ers be thinking about trading him absolutely not you know for this prolific 49er offense he had 15 more targets than George KD and that was by far the the most on the team and you talk about mcaffry and everybody else Brandy auk skill set fundamentally guys is really hard to replace he averages three more yards per catch than Debo Samuel who’s a really good player but when you project the next three years guys Brandon auk is a young ascending highly talented athlete whereas Debo Samuel is more of a contact player who to me will be more skilled diminish I think we the 49ers did a great job guys is they just didn’t draft Ricky piol in the first round they also took JA County in the fourth round so they’re well position but I IU to me is a half to have Deo Samuel is a nice to have yeah I agree and I don’t think they are going to trade him but let’s live in that fantasy world for a minute no seriously if they were to do it he said Washington and Pittsburgh which place would he be better Washington ESPN analytics did a measurement of all receivers in the NFL a couple months ago they said that Brandon iuk was one of the most open guys in the NFL that’s pretty easy to understand even if you don’t like analytics he is open basically more than anybody in the entire league and that to me leads to Washington a vertical shots down the field Cliff Kingsbury Jaden Daniels Jaden Daniels at LSU was a savant when you talk about vertical seam routs getting down the field that would be a match made in heaven he’s obviously friends with J Daniels seems to be his podcast partner or something or at least one of his best friends um so I think that would be a match made in heaven if you’re going to trade him I wouldn’t do it though Harry what about Brandon auk would you move him well let me position my body like Brandon auk well um if I’m a San Francisco 49 I’m not trading them because number one he is the best route runner on their team he led this team and receiving yards the last two years Brandon auk is more pivotal to this football team than a lot of people give him credit for and if they are going to trade him a place I would love to see him is the Washington commanders because of the relationship with j and Daniels but also pairing him up with Terry McLaren and Jan doson and Company I would really love to see that pairing we know what jayton Daniels did in college football the last two years with Heisman last year him being paired up with somebody he has a relationship with and chemistry with already I think it’d be a match made to heaven we rather do it too soon than too late and right now I don’t think his value will ever be higher yeah we got that $22 million this year and I’m not sure how many teams late that’s true that’s that’s a good point that’s almost nothing for a wide receiver hey I mentioned the Cowboys uh safety Malik hooker was asked recently about which of his teammates should get paid first and in a somewhat shocking development he actually gave a really detailed answer take a listen I feel like CD should be paid first for the simple fact of what he does for us you know how valuable he is for us the leader he is for us as a team now go cd1 you can interchange Zack and Dak too mic still has a lot to prove like he’s he’s done a great job his first couple years in the league don’t get me wrong he’s a he’s fantastic player but I feel like Micah still has a surface that he don’t even know that he can scratch as far as what he’s doing so I would say Micah I would say Micah’s last just for that reason thoughts H well look I want to keep all three of them but as we’re talking about CD lamb guys like something debates are hard this one’s easy 25 years old incredibly durable incredibly productive had 135 catches last year what are we talking about like that’s your dream if you’re in the front office and you hit on a first round pick get him side and gr as you just alluded to if we had this conversation 6 months ago we’re at a lot lower of number but now where Justin Jefferson is and imagine where Jamar Chase is going to be 36 37 million a year by waiting they have cost them a lot of money Harry it looks like you have a thought on this I’m trying to read read your expression are we just going to ignore the elephant in the room why is Malik hooker on any podcast saying who should get paid first when he’s still a member on the damn Dallas Cowboys what what are we doing and and people wonder why we talk about the Cowboys religiously well tell them to stop giving us the damn material cuz this is the material that they give us that we don’t even ask for this man is on a podcast stating who should get paid first instead of saying you know what I love all my teammates they should all get their money I hope we all get paid he is naming who should get paid first who should get paid second second which is in that is insane to me y’all it really is that that’s what we’re supposed to be doing here on the show uh and we thank Malik hooker for his [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] assistance as an Ardent Eagles fan I’m absolutely thrilled to see the team sticking to their tried and true draft strategy one that has consistantly prioritized fortifying our trenches the decision to pick Jordan Davis over Kyle Hamilton in the 2022 draft is a master stroke that Echoes The Genius of our past moves such as the iconic selection of Brandon Graham over Earl Thomas in 2010 this isn’t just about building a roster it’s about ensuring long-term dominance through strategic choices that fortify both our offensive and defensive lines the wisdom of hoi Roseman deeply influenced by the legendary Andy Reid shines brightly through these decisions it’s fascinating to witness the continuity of a philosophy that has been meticulously honed over decades a testament to the enduring value of focusing on the trenches this approach has yielded tremendous results as evidenced by Graham’s Evolution into an eagle’s Legend initially met with skepticism Graham’s career trajectory has been a narrative of resilience and eventual Triumph culminating in that Unforgettable strip sack in Super Bowl 52 his journey is a poignant reminder that greatness often requires patience and faith in the developmental process now with Jordan Davis we have another potential Cornerstone in the making yes Kyle Hamilton’s immediate impact with the Ravens is impressive but let’s not forget that defensive greatness is a marathon not a Sprint Davis with his raw talent and under the tutelage of Brilliant Minds like Vic fonio and Clint hurt is poised to follow a similar path to stardom the tools are all there it’s just a matter of time before he blossoms into a force that will anchor our defensive line for years to come it’s also incredibly reassuring to see the team maintaining a clear coherent strategy rather than being swayed by the clamor for immediate results this level of consistency in decision-making speaks volumes about the front office’s commitment to building a team that can achieve sustained success it’s not just about filling immediate gaps it’s about laying the foundation for a dynasty furthermore the Eagle draft philosophy underscores the importance of having a strong cohesive unit in the trenches this approach ensures that we can dominate the line of scrimmage both offensively and defensively setting the stage for our skill players to shine it’s a holistic view of team building that prioritizes structural integrity and long-term stability as fans it’s imperative that we Embrace this vision and exercise patience the development of players like Davis is a process that will ultimately pay off in Spades the echo of Brandon Graham’s career serve as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we trust the process and give our players the time they need to reach their full potential so let’s rally behind this team with unwavering support let’s celebrate the wisdom of our front office and the bright future that lies ahead the Eagles are not just building a team they are crafting a legacy one brick or should I say one trench Warrior at a time Fly Eagles Fly m for for m for for
