the Celtics are out here cooking Again Brad Stevens has once again made a fantastic move in the NBA draft and this time it was bringing in 6 fo8 Sharpshooter from kraton Baylor shyan a guy that fits him perfectly alongside of this group of Five Guys which also by the way happened to be the number one rated team of all time on the offensive end of the Court he also went out and signed some major extensions in the past week so we’re going to talk about that too but Baylor shyan probably the steal of the draft at 30 a guy that averaged 18 and 1 12 points nine rebounds four assists in 37 minutes a game and as we talked about earlier he’s about 67 or 68 Lefty smooth jumper very pretty jump shot 45% from the field 38% from three on 8.3 attempts per game I think he fits in perfect in Boston one of the things that really pops about his game is that off dribble three ball here he is just completely discarding the defender and knocking it down no issues um coming off of a screen here knocking it down really good at reading the pick and roll which is what we’ll talk about later but I think he’s really an upgraded version of Sam Hower whose contract will be coming to an end shortly um turnaround three bro he’s doing Steph Curry type stuff in college I think he’s a day one rotation piece for this Boston Celtics team that loves to shoot the three ball he fits right in to this system um step back three over you with the shot clock expiring insanely tough shot there also not the worst Slasher in the world head top he’s got a little bit of sneaky bounce on him um you have to respect that jump shot so he can drive downhill he’s got a little bit of an old man game but very like we said you got to respect that jump shot going to get inside 55% from two-point range this year on almost six attempts per game um and and like I said when you close out hard he has the ability to take you off the bounds he can finish both ways with his right or left hand obviously he’s left-handed naturally but we saw that right-handed um extended arm finish not over explosive psych get on that Rim Young fella uh he was just taking the contact right there I was just kidding little Up and Under move could have been glorified travel but not in the NBA we don’t believe in those little inside scoop handed L I love uh his ability to get to the rim we’ll see if that translates to the NBA but one thing that is certain that’s going to translate to the NBA is his shooting ability and his ability to cut catches Tyler KCK an NBA guard asleep right there and he cuts back door that’s going to fit in beautifully with that Boston Celtics offense and then his counter move he has everybody has to have a counter move for when they get into the paint he’s got his Fade Away mid-range that if you see it go up go ahead and take it out of the basket because it is usually pure cords we see it over and over here he tries to get in tries to get in Stefan Castle good Defender gets the an1 there but a great job of getting to that fadeaway jumper with the left hand now he’s also really good at reading in the pick and roll which is something the Celtics ask their wings to do a lot of here he sees the guard trying to communicate to the big to switch it in the corner doesn’t happen and he’s got Co brener roll into the rim up top uh a lot of times the wings like we said Jason Tatum Jaylen Brown they have to read the pick and roll in this Celtics offense here he does another good job of seeing them not be able to communicate to stay up on the Hedge because you have to respect his shooting ability and he just fires a pass in there for the easy dunk um once again finds cul brener here this is against Yukon the best team in the league a little bit Tardy on that cover um whips it inside to cul brener cul brener is a great big honestly in college but then we see him expose the other half of things if you don’t show on the screen if you don’t show on the Hedge he will make you pay um makes I think that’s David Joplin look stupid right there with the step back behind the back turn you around and then come back and let me put it down your throat Pauls I don’t know why we’re being sus today but anyways let’s continue on here looking at his passing ability we already looked at his reads in the pick and roll uh but once again Co printer is a really really good college big um that is a easy target great with sealing it off here he gets deep and then throws it out to Trey Alexander for the three something they will do a lot of in Boston those kickout threes drive and kick offense that’s what the entire team is based around the entire principle of that offense is based around and you have to be able to catch and shoot when you are driving and kicking Baylor shyan can do that perfect scheme fit like I said let’s take a look at some of this action that the Celtics ran last year Brad Stevens Joe moula cooking stuff up when they get shyan into this offense right here Drew holiday is just going to slip it and this is their five out offense Al Horford is going to clear taking Daniel Gafford with him Luca is going to be he’s going to try to switch it Derrick Jones Jr he doesn’t communicate it in time a little two-handed shove there from Drew holiday a little sneaky uh but he gets the layup to go and then you got Al Horford just trailing and simply trailing this is five out and he hits the three this is beautiful basketball uh we hit Drew holiday on the slip and then Jaylen Brown is going to cut in behind PJ Washington who has to rotate down because Maxi clayber has to rotate over and Jaylen Brown’s going to dunk it I think Baylor shyan will thrive in this offense because look Sam Hower is the one that has to make this read I see Baylor shyan as a Sam Hower plus type guy Sam Houser’s contract will be up after this season I believe um so if they don’t want to bring him back they have Shan if they do then they can they are kind of in the tax though because obviously they’re paying both of these guys over 300 million but Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown is what this offense revolves around slashing wings that can dribble pass and shoot Tatum here finding Jaylen Brown for the catch and shoot three ball who Jaylen Brown is actually good at the catch and shoot Bor shyan is great at the catch and shoot so he will fit in perfectly I hope you see the point here Baylor shyan is going to feast in this Boston Celtics offense as a rookie if he doesn’t as a rookie he will as a second-year guy um and then all five guys or all four guards really they run a four guard system you count Jaylen Brown Jason Tatum as guards all four guards can penetrate and create their own offense as well as offense for others Derek white that is dirty right there that’s the fourth that’s the third or fourth option right there and he’s hitting shots like that sometimes the fifth if Drew holidays on his game now the Celtics shoot a lot of Threes And they make a lot of Threes they had eight guys make over 200 or over 100 threes this year with Jason Tatum making over 200 Hower making 197 Derek white making 196 pyton Pritchard making 147 and leading the NBA in half court shots Jaylen brown with 145 Drew holiday with 138 and then Christoff porzingis even though he missed a lot of time this year he still made 110 I think he only played like 55 games of the 82 Al Horford with 108 Off the Bench they had three guys off their bench hit a 100 or more threes Baylor shyan last year also made 110 threes in 35 games this dude is going to seamlessly fit in Boston if he would have played a full 82 Game season he would have made 254 threes that’s what he was on Pace for he was 12th in division one basketball and in terms of three-pointers made and usually those leaders don’t come from the power conferences yes we’ll call the Big East a power conference here uh with that being set let’s go ahead and take a break here if you’re already this far into the video have been the finals MVP and that’s Brad Stevens for the construction of this roster we see all these beautiful trades that he has made that have come together the Drew Holiday trade the Dereck white trade which was a steal gave away Josh Richardson Romeo lenford and a first for Derek white who is on another level in the playoffs gave away Kima um sad what happened to Kimbo but still gave him away hey he’s back on the Hornets coaching staff though video about that coming soon anyways the christops trade was the biggest deal of them all they got christops and two firsts for like Danilo galinari and Marcus Smart and then looking at their cap table obviously this is not updated for the Tatum and Derek white contracts but Horford will probably retire after this coming season if I had to guess um and then Sam Hower like we said will be gone after this year probably because they just have no money they’re going to be in salary they’re going to be way over the second apron it’s going to be crazy the amount of money they’re spending because they just dished out 315 million to Tatum and Derek white got 126 mil so this is a long-term play Here by Brad Stevens and Company getting that Sam Hower placement a year early they get to play together and then eventually you can move on from Sam Hower you have Baylor shyan it’s not a big deal with that being said that’s going to be it for
