I see everyone wanting to find a way to keep wigs and Kuminga in a potential Lauri trade. While that would be ideal for our chances this year, I’m not sure it’s possible to extend them both.
You can assume with extensions for Lauri and JK you’re paying a minimum of ~$80m for the pair in 2025-26. Even with melton coming off the books, that puts you at $220m for ten players, $20m over the projected second apron.
Not an option.
Even if you trade wigs you are right up at the 2nd apron and are adding min players around your core. In a situation where we keep Kuminga in a Lauri trade that means you’re probably losing podz and moody, so your gotta be ready to rock with what you’ve got the rest of the way.
