Is Alex Sarr The Next NBA Unicorn?

Is Alex Sarr The Next NBA Unicorn?

in my opinion the Washington Wizards got the best Prospect in the 2024 NBA draft with the second overall pick when they selected FR big man Alex s s to me was the player that s gone first overall while this drive doesn’t have a clearcut superstar Prospect so it was the guy that made the most sense as a first overall pack because he has the most upside in this class in my opinion so the game at pick two was great for Washington now I don’t think s on his own can save this wizard team it’s going to take a lot more than just one player to save this franchise but I do like him a lot and I see a ton of upside but quickly before we go any further if you do like basketball i’ really appreciate if you would like subscribe hit the notification Bell notifi whenever I release a video I make videos about basketball all the time and liking and subscribing me the two best ways can help me on YouTube algorithm help to Pro the channel and I’m reach by gold 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year let’s try and get 100 likes on this video so YouTube recommend to others anyways let’s talk about alexo alexo is a 71 224 lb big forward hybrid with a 74 wingspan what stands out most is his athleticism he has very forward movement skills he’s pretty explosive he runs the FL well he’s in that set home gr Evan Mo class of fluid tall freakish movers where he brings his most value as a player immediately though is defense he’s a great shot blocker probably the second best shot Blocker in this class behind Donovan kingan he has pretty good foul discipline and he has unreal ground coverage and given his athleticism he has great defensive versatility holds his own on switzers I think he’s a guy that can defend fours and fives longterm and maybe even some threes and I wouldn’t say he can defend guards but he will be able to hold his own when he get switched onto them now offensively he brings his most value immediately as a play FY someone that can catch LS run the forward be a dump off guy in the dunker spot make plays off a roll simply because of how athletic he is at that height on top of that he has some flashes of being able to handle the basketball suit it and pass now he’s far from a perfect Prospect while he had those flashes he needs to expand on them and continue to develop them to actually make it sustainable he has a solid free throw percentage and I think the for is at least workable right now it could use some work but there is something there so the potential for him to develop into a solid to good shoor is real in my opinion only time will tell if those shooting flashes become substance uh but of the potential skills he has the one I’m most confident in is his playmaking upside because he makes pretty good reads off the roll I actually think he’s good at it right now and he has some flashes as a passer in transition one area I think he needs a lot of work is the frame he struggles against physicality it’s to an even worse extent than guys like Evan Mo and at home were as Prospect although to be fair the S he is a year younger than those guys were as prospects it is something that they will work itself out with time and Reps but it is a swing factor for how effective of a player he will be in the NBA in this short term I think s will upside but it won’t always translate to production I think he plays the forward to start his career which is the best case scenario for him early on due to his physicality struggles we’ll see what happens with K kusma if they keep him Ora or they try to trade him because I don’t think s rookie is a better player than Kusa although I do think kma might play the three if they decide to keep him just because they traded Danny AR at the Portland I think the guard play will determine a lot with so’s early production p is far from the ideal guard to help a player like Alex s early on but they have Ty Jones right now he’s under contract this season and he’s a guy who can help a contender so maybe he gets traded before the season starts or during the season but actually think that it would be best for Washington to keep tus Jones because he can help the development of your second overall pick with upside as a reliable fors animal that can help s get looks and if the Wizards are as bad as I think they will be they’re going to be picking very high in a potentially loaded 2025 class and if they miss out kooper flag with a front Court of Bali kooper flag and Alex are long-term defensively would be insane even if they don’t get him though they will potentially be in a Spire to get a long-term playmaker next to show like Nolan trayor or Dylan Harper I think BB carington can be a solid playmaker for them but I don’t think he’s a primary guy which is why I think they should have taken AA Coler who in my opinion was the second best player in the 20 24 NBA draft in terms of playmaking ability and one of two or three guys who I believe had primary or at least lead guard upside in that draft but they pass on him twice I don’t think s will be super productive as a rookie not like guys we’ve seen in recent news not named Victor W because that’s an outlier but Mobly jet aan I don’t think he’s going to have that kind of rookie season mainly because he’s not as polished as those guys were entering the NBA but I do see solid production as a play finisher with upside somebody that has production just being a big athlete that is really hard to contain the open four can be a play finisher and also flashes upside on the perimeter as well averaging around you know 10 to 12 points per game 68 rebounds per game two assists per game one and a half to two blocks per game around 50 28 71 splits I really think the numbers will depend on if the Wizards Keep tius or not though now so has a decent range of outcomes in my opinion I think he has a decently High forward as a rotation piece an athletic big forward that can run the flo makes your play defensively but the inconsistencies could lead him to being more of a Ben guy than a starter fulltime a player that starts on a bad team but is more of a 15 minute per game guy on a good team guys that tall and this athletic can stick about for a while it’s how Morin baggley has stayed in the league as long as he has despite not coming close to his number two pick billing I think the middle ground outcome is a good starter a 12 point per game eight rebound guy that’s a really good Defender Sol passer and play Fender but it’s limited as a Creator something like a taller version of healthy Rob Williams somewhat like Nick Claxton or what I think Derek Lively can be I think he will be a much better suitter than all three of those guys but that level of player is what I think the middle outr is guys who either have proven to be or I think would be starters on contenders and the highend outcome for sure in my opinion is the All Star the friends all NBA guy in the right situation someone that isn’t your main option but is productive in a secondary offensive role and can put up big numbers if he is the focal point but you will notice an efficiency dip that is correlated with the higher usage compared to a lower usage role putting up around 18 to 20 points per game 8 to 10 rebounds per game two to four assist per game with Elite defense I think of guys like Evan Mobley who even though I’ve been critical of Mobley compared to expectations some people have for him he’s still one of the best defensive players in the world and is productive on offense in the right situation and that to me is still an Allstar level guy and J Jackson junor comes to mind as well while it’s far from a guarantee I do think the best possible outcome for so looks somewhat like jiren but maybe not as physical jiren was a physical monster entering the NBA but a better rebounder and a more disciplined player in Bon in the four only time will tell with s and his outcomes but I would be shocked if he’s a player that Flames out of the NBA quickly just given the to and murder the Wizards made the right pick in this draft and I doing the Wizards in recent years have a good track record of international Born High draft picks after Yan vley you look at the guys and they’re Le solid to potentially good even though he went to college and isn’t a star ruy hamura wasn’t a bad pick it took some time but even though they traded him Denny has become a solid player and like I saw from b kabali as a rookie he has a lot to showw in terms of upside and I actually think he was a bit further along than I thought he would be as a rookie now there doesn’t guarantee that so will be good but I do think s is easily the highest ceing Prospect they’ve drafted since Bradley Beal I don’t think s could be the franchise centerpiece I don’t think he’s the guy you build the team around even if he’s the closest thing to the in this draft class but I will say I still see the potential as a legit star that’s a top three to four option on a contended how sir turns out in the NBA will be determined by a few things his physical development how we get stronger while maintaining his movement skills that made him a Hydra piic how he expands on his offensive flashes what level can he take his handle and shooting to and to a certain extent his passing although I think he’s actually pretty good as a passer right now and how the Wizards build this roster having a guard that can run the offense and get so looks at least early on having a physical big next to him so he doesn’t have to deal with physicality as much that is something that depends on what position they think so is if they think he’s a five longterm it will be more about having a guy that can help him along physically as he develops if they think he’s a long-term fory which is why I believe is the most likely scenario and why he preferred Washington over Atlanta it’ll be more about having a long-term bit that can handle verality as a screens Setter and post Defender and overall just having a guy to build around so s isn’t forced into a high usage situation the Wizards have been a joke for basically a decade now and they finally decided to go for rebuild while so isn’t some I think to be a superstar that leads them to the promised land I do think he can be a highle contributor they rebuild this team correctly the Wizards have a lot of work to do but a clue of Alex s b b and BB carington is a starting point if the Wizards Land one of the Premier towns in the next few drafts like in 2025 Cooper flag who’s a first doll Monster on both ends of the board and might be the best American boyn Prospect since LeBron Ace B someone has potential to be the next great Wing is a three level scorer and Elite athlete FJ Ed who might be the best suiting guard Prospect we’ve seen since Anthony Edwards has monster potential on both ends of the fort noan trayor who could be the next great point guard due to his playmaking and scoring with ideal guard tools physically or Doan Harper who showcases all around skill set as a physical combo with high feeli and looking at two2 se guys like camb booer a physical monster at such a young age with athleticism skill and feel that honestly makes him a guy I think will give kooper flag a run for his money as the best American Born Prospect of his generation and Andy J D Baner a dyamic scoring Wing that has Sage of guys like Jason Tatum and Fran Paul Jorge du to scoring athleticism and playmaking upside M goas if it they get any of those guys or not the Wizards got a really good Prospect in Alex sorry one that has upset to be great but if he becomes great or not will be determined by how they handle his development and also build this team over the next few years but that’s the end of this video you made to this point thank you so much again haven’t already like subscribe H notification B notifi whenever I release a video I make videos about basketball all the he have gone first overall how do you think his rookie year will play out who do you think will win Rookie of the Year i’ love through all of that in the comment section down below but with that being said have a nice day and I’ll see you guys in the next one [Music]

In my opinion the Washington Wizards got the best prospect in the 2024 NBA draft at pick 2. When they selected French big man Alex Sarr.
Sarr to me was the player that should’ve gone first overall. While this draft doesn’t have a clear cut superstar prospect. Sarr was the guy that made the most sense as a first overall pick, and has the most upside of any prospect in this class in my opinion. So to get him at pick 2 was great for Washington. Now I don’t think Sarr on his own will save this Wizards team. It’s going to take a lot more than just one player to save this franchise. But I do like him a lot, and I see a ton of upside.

  2. Sarr was the no. 1 on my personal board, but my favourite player from this draft is Ron Holland – if Fred Vinson works his magic and gets Ron to like a 36-37% 3 point shooter imo he’s one of the only in the draft who could possibly make an all-nba team.
