Bailey falter last start was really really good through five innings and had five punch outs on the night looking to piggy back that eliminate some of the walks and put these right-handed bats to and here’s your Lefty Brandon nmo and Brandon hits one off the pitcher’s leg into right field Lindor will turn second and go to third a bullet off the leg of falter does not appear to be limping at all must have hit his shoe the trainer’s going to come out for a look but falter is waving him away bullet oh off the back of his heel so the Mets with backto back hits to start this game and the table set for JD Martinez a pop up sherite Gonzalez and that’s one big one so one out two in scoring position for pet Lonzo who went two for three last night got him that’s some pitching right there that is some big time major league pitching right there here’s Mark Vientos righty batters hit lefties very well this year if he can escape this with no damage boom that’s pitching falter gets out of it he strands two in scoring position take a look at David Peterson’s numbers obviously three and0 in a year likes to work on that armed side away from the right-handed hitters McCutchen takes a high strike and he is out looking for the first out here’s Brian Reynolds W from both sides the played last night Browns one out to Lindor who makes the running throw and Reynolds retired two out and now keban Hayes Lindor knocks it down gets up and throws out Hayes terrific recovery by Lindor didn’t get it cleanly on the dive but stayed with it and teren has a little lead off hit so Terren is on there by Nick Gonzalez oh quick and Taylor drives one out white center field that’s deep back goes palasio it’s over his hand and off the base of the wall Taylor to second he pulls in with a double and that makes that caught stealing look even worse Taylor stands a third with two away now for the number nine hitting Harrison Bader a popup Right Center Taylor how about that bilyy falter nothing nothing in the bottom of the second inning it’s Conor Joe oh Joe fights that off and Pops it up oh my but he didn’t run it doesn’t matter did they touch it yeah it might be a oh they said I think somebody did touch it yeah yeah that’s why it’s spun out wow how about that can honestly say I’ve never seen this see it just hit off the tip of the glove and that’s why it spun back that loads the bases and here comes O’Neal Cruz and he goes down swinging on the up and in fast the hardest pitch Peterson thrown at 96 and it gets him the second out of the inning and his second strike out of the day and now it’ll be Michael a Taylor and make it five as he gets Taylor another 96 mph fast ball from Peterson who gets himself in and out of trouble leaving The Bases Loaded for the third straight inning the Mets with two men on and nobody out here’s JD Martinez Bailey’s feeling a little uncomfortable right now something’s not right that’s not good and the catcher on no yeah Joey Bart knows something’s not right obviously think they can work through it and he takes it high ball four in the CH are loaded second walk of the inning for falter he’s uncomfortable yeah something does not seem right with falter and I think now they’re going to have a trainer come out he’s going to take the baseball from him yeah falter is coming out of the game well Dennis Santana will pick up for falter here in the third and the Mets have loaded for Alonzo oh my strikes him out oh that’s a big Punch Out here’s Mark Vientos oh brother swing and a miss struck him out on the cutter I don’t think you could have been put in a more difficult Jam see if he can finish this up so now Luis Tren and Tren drives one out to left center field back in the Gap goes Reynolds back to the warning track it’s off the wall and bounc it away three runs will score Terren pulls in at second base a Bas is clearing double for Luis Terren and the Mets lad at three nothing finally the Mets are able to cash in and it’s Trin heading it to the deepest part of the ballpark back in that notch in left center field was not pulled a little more been another ground slam and he finally threw a hanging slider Garett there it is and teren covered it rcky g a lead off double pick off try close play but he just got the hand back he just did Will executed by Peterson and Lindor the Mets are going to challenge the call think he might and I think he got him I think he got him before the hand got back in look at the quick pivot by Peterson and a perfect throw just can’t do it any better I think he got him he got him on the head before he touched the base D thought he got him he gave the out call himself after riew the colum the field is overturned the runners out that’s a huge out two out man on for O’Neal Cruz couldn’t be a better time for O’Neal Cruz missile drive to right field if it’s fair it is a home run and indeed a cruise missile to the aligan she goes oh my O’Neal Cruz is 13th more fireworks got plenty of them now let’s go we have reloaded the Cannons oh man what a nice time right there with two out O’Neal Cruz just delivers exactly what this Pirates offense needed cut that deficit really quickly with that it it’s hit so hard yes it deflects off the pole into the river good that’s impressive here’s a glacius first second one out that’s hit hard now to face hit down the left field line and that’ll bring in Vientos teren moves to Third and elus pulls it at second with an RBI double and the Mets expand their lead it’s 4-2 igus continues to produce that is his 12th RBI of the Year fast ball in turns on it glaus is now 8 for 17 with runners in scoring position they’re going to bring the infield in Harrison Bader the batter that’s lined toward the Gap in left center field Reynolds coming over Di and he made the catch tagging it third as teren he’ll come in to score but a great play by Brian Reynolds to take a base it away from Bader Bader winds up with a sacrific fly and it’s 5 to2 New York what a play that gets by him that clears the bases obviously and with Bader’s speed in that deep part of the park that’s a triple what a nice play for pitch walk they’re loaded for Hayes that’s L toward the middle snag by Lindor the flip to Second not in time oh wow Lindor just got that ball in the webbing of his glove and he nearly doubled off McCutchen well that wasn’t hit hard enough too that would have scored two good base running by McCutchen and Lindor just gets a great break and that could have been a big inning right here that is a saving play well now it’s Jack swinsky announced as the pinch hitter for Conor Joe strike called oh my God goodness it should be 5 to three unbelievable unbelievable wow Shelton is livid and he’s about to be tossed he’s gone and who can blame Shelton in a middle bit of bat Shelton is ejected by John tay but he makes quick work of it lets Jack swinsky get back into the box that is a reason to get kicked out of this game that is terrible he struck him out R Garrett exalts after striking out Siskey he strands the base is loaded well Edwin Diaz has already passed one important test said he wasn’t going to change anything said he didn’t do anything wrong he used sweat and rosin and dirt he said but he got ding for 10 games the med suffered as a result this is the first game for Diaz in 18 days last outing was against Texas on June 18th and he hits CR on the leg and the Pirates have the lead off base run HS need one more base runner to get the tying run back F coming up struck him out got him with a fast ball there’s the first down in the ninth here’s Andrew McCutchen on the ground Lindor gets in front of it out at second mcneel to First in time and the ball game is over Edwin Diaz returns to action and gets the save the 643 double play against McCutchen ends it and the Mets put the brakes on a three- game losing streak Luis Tren with the big hit and the Mets defeat the Pirates 5-2
