Astros vs. Twins Game Highlights (7/7/24) | MLB Highlights

Houston native Simon Woods Richardson will face the Astros per for the second time this year yeah down in Houston Four sim four and a third three hits three runs gave up a couple homers two walks six strikeouts we’ll see if he can improve on that here’s Alex bregman there’s a base hit into right field Alex who had a home run against Simeon back in Houston picks up a base hit here bregman runs and the payoff pitch a swing and a miss strike three on a high fast ball Spencer arti is going to make his 16th start here against the Minnesota Twins it’ll be his first appearance against this organization here at the big league level Carlos starts today with a n game hitting streak having his best year of his three seasons with the twins look out kareah up and inside he got hit and he’s shaking his hand this was a fast ball up and in just got away from Eric GTI it’s been a recurring side this weekend we’ve seen plenty of hit by pitches on both sides and two bigname players was hoping to stay in this game but he will not tough loss for the TS hopefully everything’s okay with Carlos J did not face Woods Richardson either in that first start against the Astros this ball sent towards left it over the head of the leaping Brooks Lee that’ll be the Astros second hit of the game and that is a little bit low for ball four walks have been climbing a bit for Woods Richardson over his last three starts so two minut on for the Astros with one out for Chaz McCormack off the plate Ball Four backto back walks and the Astros have loaded the bases for Cesar Salazar and now the Astros are threatening here Salazar has been swinging the back great I mean the RBI situations he’s coming through over and over again Salazar puts it in play down the left field line walner gives it a look he’s going to make a catch that’ll score a run tagging and scoring will be John Singleton so Salazar gets the first run home with a sack fly his seventh RBI in his eighth game of the season now Jose altu will bat probably pretty anxious to do some damage right here in a big moment 3-1 base runners at first and second two outs there’s a line drive base hit with the runner moving an easy score for Jake Myers Jose Altuve in RBI Bas hit making it two nothing Astros well continues to hit well with runners in scoring position and highest olds amongst center fielders in the game Byron second now to only Aaron judge to the right side base hit and now speed aboard this ball sent to left field coming on to B he is able to snag that ball in the A and that’s low nice job Matt walner buckton singled walner walked and the twins put the tying run on here in the second Vasquez won a World Championship with the Astros in 2022 line to left and over a leaping bregman buckton scores walner to third base and he will stop and he’s safe and smiling and this is a one-run game CNS are on the board they’ve cut the lead in half two out base hit by Vas here’s Castro sending one to left duban will move towards the line and put it away for the final out of the inning two outs in the inning here’s Carlos Santana they s into right smoke that line drive on a fast B at 95 a two OD knock for Santana this is dribbled fa Third Base Line Diaz will slide and throws this one into right field let’s keep an eye on Santana he’s going to be held as Kepler ends up at second base well traveled maybe 30 ft Salazar would have been better off just holding on to that baseball two outs two minut in scoring position another test for Spencer erti he has not fared well this year with runners in scoring position as he faces Byron buckon here got him big strike out for Eric GTI stranding two in scoring position that is the third strikeout of the game Astros maintain their two to one lead hey Brooks Lee leads off Brooks Lee to the right side and and yet two Astros there now two of eight went to his right Peña went left and Lee is on looked like either one of them could have had it Altuve tried to make the play in front of Jeremy and didn’t come up with a clean L line to right center field a bullet towards the Gap by walner and Lee’s going to make third first and third nobody out and now Vasquez infield back to third knocked down by bregman he’ll go to Second Lee is coming home they throw to the plate drop the ball dropped the ball Lee is safe this is a tie game game and now throw back to First and Vasquez is tagged out there boy a lot happening here so walner he’s forced out a second and then Lee coming home he’s ruled safe Vasquez is out they had plenty of time to get the base runner at home played in brooksley who froze on that short hop to Third Base it’s been a tough inning defensively it’s an inning that the Astros really should be out of yeah that’s where you got to have the young pitcher to keep his composure and make some pitches and pick up his defense base hit in right so Castro with a two- out single and they were they pitching around lck there a lot of this traffic Spencers allowed in this game has come with two outs and this inning after Christian Vasquez rounded first and was tagged out for the second out he’s given up a hit in a walk so a lot of damage coming with two outs swing in a Miss he gets Farmer for the second time Salazar will make the tag to end the inning all tie 22 as we start the sixth and WS Richardson today this start quite comparable perk to what we saw as last two five innings three hits two runs so far he struck him out with a curveball great finish for Woods Richardson setting down 13 straight Houston batters Josh stalman will throw here in the seventh inning and face dubon Meers and mccan he bus crisley Lee bare hands throws him out big leag play by the rookie that play wasn’t even close at first base because Brooks Lee got an incredible jump on that ball dubon even threw in a leg kick to try to keep Brooks Lee back but he read it textbook play and look it he got him by 10 15 ft how about that arm too he made that look easy line to left and Margo sliding and he caught it up against his chest that ball hit off the heel of his glove and took a friendly roll into his body he’s had some adventures in left field and yeah that’s an elbow hip maybe arm pit the Astros will have a pinch hitter here Joey ler fedo he’ll Loop one over the head of Miranda and be a leadoff base runner for the Astros and he’s going to go for second and Joey how about that hustle right out of the box getting a double taking advantage of that looping hit into the left field Astros with the go-ahead run with nobody out here in the eighth inning Jose one for three with an RBI hit that was back in the second inning when the Astros scored both of their runs and the 3-2 pitch check swing strike three hit hard to left Margo back one step makes the catch left the bat at 101 but right at Margo hey struck him out with a sweeper the lead off double leads to nothing former twin takes over for the Astros here in the bottom of the eight big right arm of Ryan Presley and a four pitch walk go ahead run is on here in the eighth inning now the two2 pitch this one tapped Third Base Line that’s going to stay Fair no play another infield hit so two on nobody out Brooks Le is two for three today grounds this one toward short it’ll be Pia will take it himself steps on the B throws the first great play Jeremy Peña J beat bucks into the bag at second and threw a BB to John Singleton for the double play now runner on third and Kepler with two outs in Margo grounds one slowly toward short Peña charges throws on the run in time Presley with a fist pump as he is excited about getting out of a first and second no out situation and the twins are going to go to their bullpit for their closer big right arm of Johan Duron Yer sends one into right field that’ll be down for a hit the Asos have their lead off runner on in the ninth inning Diaz stays the one-w pitch is Loop to right field Kepler is there Kepler 1 two down off the plate Ball Four the Astros will have the goahead run at second base Jake Myers draws the walk against toon Houston one for five with runners in scoring position today but for the season seventh best in baseball now the one two he struck him out in a breaking ball and the Astros strand a pair leaving the go-ahead run at second base after all the offense we saw the first two days we were destined for a game game like this to decide the series twins have three walk-off wins this season Christian Vasquez will lead off the home Ninth at a 22 game and Josh haer will try and force this one to the 10th inning a swing of a Fly ball to left field and deep back it goes onto the warning track at the wall and is gone it’s over Christian Vasquez walks it off Twins win Twins win the Minnesota Twins walk it off and win the series 32 the final they’ve hovered now at 25 straight games extending their team record he was hopping he was watching he was hoping and eventually a Victorious bat flip and walkoff a red hot Houston team 32 the final

  1. From a Twins fans perspective, just another ho-hum home series in July. All we saw:

Friday: A team down 8 runs with 2 outs & nobody on, actually rattle off 7 runs and getting the tying run to the plate. And oh by the way, that Miranda guy looking like the 2nd coming of Ted Williams.

Saturday: Miranda adding his name to the record books with 12 consecutive hits. Brooks Lee clobbering his first career home run. Off of a pitcher who's given up about a run over the past month.

Sunday: Riding the offensive prowess of Christain Vasquez. Who drives in all the teams runs including a walk off against Josh Hader of all people.

You can't make it up. And you don't have to!! Fun weekend of baseball to say the least.
