I guess Alex Young’s future wasn’t all that hot here anymore, even if his back worked. Slater’s 202/333/247 should fit right in, though.
The hell is this? An actual trade?
I mean I’m not thrilled by the pickup but I do trust Krall.
Curious if this is a platoon pickup. He’s got some serious splits.
About what you can expect. With us stuck in injury purgatory Krall is trying to keep our head above water.
Well it’s a start I guess lol
This could be a trade that really goes under the radar, or it could be a trade that does nothing. Either way I’m glad the reds addressed a need.
Can cash considerations swing a bat good? 🤔
holy shit we did something. hopefully this can address something on the cosmic plane, buster posey voodoo curse, etc. and i think maybe sometimes guys start hitting better with a change of scenery?
Giants fan here, addition by subtraction for us with a crowded outfield. Hopefully he finds his bat against lefties again with you guys.
Reverse splits is a bummer for what the team needs. Ultimately with what we paid it’s a good trade for us. Would rather see us try something than nothing. Life is funny, could put a fire under one of our current outfielders to perform even if Slater does nothing meaningful for us.
Good trade that makes sense for both. Neither had roles on current teams. Slater historically hits lefties really well. With our injuries, and underperforming random callups, Slater fits well.
Does this mean Fairchild is hurt?
Eugh. Feels really bad to give up Alex Young for a worse Stuart Fairchild.
