MAJOR Jays Trade Update… Report Reveals WILD Jays Trade Update | Toronto Blue Jays News

we have a major Toronto Blue Jays trade update as a recent report by an MLB Insider has revealed the Toronto Blue Jays upcoming trade deadline plan surrounding one of their starting pitchers so to break that down and discuss exactly what that report entails because what’s in it is a little bit surprising stay tuned for that in this episode as well as Ricky tman he is really starting to ramp up and could make his MLB debut very very soon stay tuned for all that before we do if you’re part of the percentage who are unsubscribed to the channel make sure to hit that button it would mean the world to Peter and myself as we’re on the road now to 14,000 subscribers we have a lot to dive into today obviously the Jays are coming off backtack wins which is pretty good they’re still well below 500 eight games below 500 at this point in the trade deadline it is approaching and with it approaching more and more trade rumors and reports are going to start to escalate but we have some insight from an Insider revealing what the Blue Jays plans could be as the deadline approaches specifically for one of their starting pictures we’re just going to dive right into that now you can see this here MLB Insider links the Baltimore Orioles to AL East trade with the blue jays and you can basically see who this is and this is Chris Basset now before we get into it it is John Haymon so take that with a grain of salt but he reveals and he’s been right about a lot of things a lot more lately than he used to be but again it’s John hymon will take with the green assault he reveals what the Jay’s plan could be if they decide to trade Chris Basset and if they decide to hold him so you can see here John Heyman of the New York Post has linked the Orioles as a team that could have interest in the AL East rival blue J starting pitcher Chris Basset the Yankees killer could interest the Orioles but like Vlad and Bo he probably stays in Toronto hyon noting that the chances of Basset being traded are very low so there’s a couple things to take out of this first we’ll start with the fact that the Orioles could be a Suitor according to John Heyman for Chris Basset now we’ll get into Chris Basset stats here he’s had a very good season and you say Kikuchi I I’ll dive into that in a minute because what his impact could be interesting in the rookie Ted in front but you can see Chris Basset here he’s having a pretty decent season a very solid season especially as of late an RA plus of 118 he’s pitched a lot of innings he does what he’s always done he’s obviously the Hound on the mound he gets he pitches so many already had 100 plus innings in 18 games but he’s a very valuable pitcher at this point in his career but to trade him to the Orioles would be a a very interesting decision considering they’re an Al’s rival and I don’t think the Blue Jays would necessarily want to get rid of Chris Basset right now because they’re probably going to trade y Kikuchi which we’re getting into later but if you’re trading Chris baset you’re now limiting your starting pitch and options and they heavily and they don’t have many prospects besides Ricky tedan who’s yet to pitch in an MLB game and again you’re looking at Chris Basset the Orioles I mean they make sense from a fit standpoint the Orioles need starting pitching even though the starting pitchers they have a lot of young guys that are very good but they need starting pitching they really need a veteran in the rotation and Chris Basset is exactly that but like John Heyman says here the chances of him being traded are very low so if you were a part of the Jay’s fan base that wants to trade or wanted to trade Chris Basset according to this report the chances are very low regarding Basset and again us Kikuchi is probably much more likely to get traded than Chris Basset is for a variety of reasons obviously uh us kuchi is a pending UFA after this season he’s a bit more electric has has more electric stuff and is obviously a lefty who throws 96 97 miles per hour at times so it makes a lot more sense to Trey Kikuchi but for the Orioles even linking the Orioles and the Blue Jays in a trade is interesting because I can’t imagine a world where the Jays would want to actively trade one of their best starting pitchers and probably their best starting pitcher over the last handful of starts to the best team in the a East in the Baltimore Orioles and you can see this here if he did get plays on the trade block Basset would be an excellent Target for Baltimore as he would be able to come in and immediately become a key contributor and the biggest thing like I just mentioned was he’s 35 years old he’s pitched for a ton of uh of games obviously in a couple different teams and just a ton of innings a veteran guy and you can see at the bottom this is the big update here like I mentioned earlier while it may not be likely that Basset gets traded there’s going to be a lot of interest around the league specifically from the Orioles because of how good of a fit will be and expect to hear a lot more rumors about the Orioles in the coming days as they have a legitimate chance of winning the World Series now that’s intriguing because the Jays at least it’s they figure to be one of the biggest sellers at this upcoming trade deadline depending how the next handful of games go and really over the next month as the deadline is in early August but if Jays continue to win and they start to creep back to 500 obviously they won a series against a very good Seattle Mariners team they won back-to-back games yesterday’s game was electric tons of Jay’s fans in attendance but still at this point at the very least they’re probably going to keep vlat and Bo but at the very least they’re going to look most likely to trade the rentals which are Danny Jansen maybe Yus Kikuchi for sure Jimmy Garcia probably and a lot of these guys and even Chad green could factor into a trade equation because of how good he’s been pitching to a 1.51 er even though they do have mutual and team options over the next couple years for him there’s a lot of different ways they can go about trading a lot of their assets but Chris bassett’s the big one that I don’t think he would net a ton of value mainly because of his stats this season his veteran presence the fact that he’s he would really help a playoff team looking to make a playoff push which is exactly what the Baltimore Orioles are doing right now but it’d be tough for the Jays to let go of him and especially give him to a rival team which is why ultimately I think he probably stays in Toronto but is a very interesting article and report by John Heyman to discuss how the Orioles are showing interest in Chris Basset and it does make some sense from a fit standpoint it makes sense from a team standpoint standpoint sorry but I think ultimately it’ll be a hard fit for uh for the Jays to actually go ahead and do that especially because they’re trying to compete because if they don’t Ross Atkins and John Schneider and Mar chy all these guys are going to continue to be on the hot seat depending how they do over the next few days let us know your thoughts are in the comments on that but we’re also going to move on now to Ricky tan and speaking of starting pitching which is kind of the the subject and the highlight of this video Ricky tan is moving to triaa Buffalo we know that he’s pitched three games at single a to a low on erra he is expected to pitch on Wednesday so in a couple days from now at the time of recording super interested to see his development over the next couple months and it means a lot for this organization and that’s very true now we can see in his one of his last starts he dialed it up to 98 milph in his third Rehab start he’s MLB’s number 45 Prospect according to ml be Pipeline and obviously single a he is much better than single a he doesn’t need to be pitching in single a anymore this was obviously to get his Innings up following his injury but this is a very good sign now they are expected to ramp him up as you could see in the uh the Tweet there to 80 pitches meaning that and again with the trade deadline approaching this becomes very interesting you see how Scotty Mitchell here said that super interested to see his development over the next couple months means a lot for this organization if they choose to move on from us Kikuchi with a lot of sign which a lot of signs are pointing to given he’s a free agent after the end of this year they do have an electric Lefty and Ricky Tedman who could slide into that spot right away if they feel like he’s ready now the problem is he hasn’t pitched a ton of innings at Triple A he hasn’t pitched a ton of innings this season or last season because of lingering injuries and things like that but if they’re getting him up to 80 pitches which is really starting pitching territory and he’s dominated single a obviously but he’s much better pitcher than he single a is no competition for Ricky tedan but now they’re moving him up to Triple A getting him up to 80 pitches and if they decide to move on from us Kikuchi I think they do whether or not they’re still in the race unless they go on some miraculous 10 and0 run now and get themselves within a couple of games or two to three games of the wild card spot they’re going to retool meaning they’re probably going to still try to stay competitive but they’re going to trade their guys like Ricky tman Jimmy Garcia all of these guys maybe even Danny Jansen depending on how much confidence they have and Alejandro Kirk who’s also been performing very well as of late and they’re going to do that in order to open up a spot for some of the younger guys to play we’ve seen Leo jenez we’ve seen well obviously RIS Martinez before he got suspended for ped Spencer hitz has been the highlight of the season for the Toronto Blue Jays so there’s a lot of ways they can go about it but if they ultimately decide to get rid of usus kuchi which is very likely at this point Ricky ttim and them ramping him up at this time a month or so away from the deadline makes a ton of sense and if he gets another let’s say four to five starts under his belt at around 80 pitches and he shows dominance at the triaa level I would not be surprised to see him make his MLB debut this year and I think hadn’t he gotten that injury there would have been a very good chance that he would have already made his debut already this season and maybe he could have helped the team even though starting pitching isn’t necessarily the biggest issue the bullpen is and the lineup but the bullpen is also something that maybe rickan gets called up and gets sent down to the bullpen and just to see how he does there to help kind of recover a bullpen that’s seen Tim MAA get DFA and a lot of these guys really struggle so it could be interesting let us know in the comments what your thoughts are on this that’ll wrap it up thank you guys for watching see you soon

  1. I'd 100% trade him to Baltimore. You charge the AL east tax so they have to overpay.

You're not trading a 26 year old SP whos going to torch you for a decade

  2. This channel is dogwater–every single video is "Major Update" "Major [insert move here] incoming", and its all just wild speculation. You are framing your content totally wrong and it makes your stuff unwatchable. You can engage in discussions about these things but you have to frame it and not make it sound like something its not. Brutal

  3. How is this a MAJOR update .. it’s literally nothing “the chances are very low” but also MAJOR update 😂 hard to take you guys serious with that kind of reporting

  4. As long as they get samual basallo back in the trade. Left side power bat, not the greatest behind the plate but I'd rather that then 100 games of Kirk

  5. Never happen within division
Nick talk baseball with your head not your heart
BASSITT will be traded but not within division his value will never be higher .
BO Will be traded , he Doesn’t want to be in Toronto anymore see it every game . He’s checked out .
Vlad is still up in the air might / might not be traded . We will see
Exp contracts will be traded for something by deadline .
And tiedemann arm durability is terrible ,each time they wind him up he goes down again .
If Jeff Passan says a rumor I might believe it or Rosenthal .

  6. you said chris bassitt wouldnt net a ton of value, he' our best pitcher. what the hell would, we should demand insane value or nothing for our best player's

  7. You guys should do more vids talking about the team, the schedule. Prospects, performance etc etc. Actual concrete stuff. All this trade speculation bullshit that is 99.9 percent never going to happen doesn't interest people. Its all rumor bullshit man. Its time to move up and drop the speculation crap.

  8. Jon heyman, nah I don’t like that guy one bit. Garbage takes and oh he knows everything I guess lmao. Can’t stand that guy, mr thinks he knows it all. I don’t listen to anyone but Jeff passan that guys awesome and knows his stuff and doesn’t try to be a know it all.
