WHY DID THE HABS DO THIS?!? PASCAL VINCENT HIRED TO THE LAVAL ROCKET…

[Applause] oh [Applause] no uh I don’t know how I feel about this man what the hell oh no why why him Pascal Vincent is the new Laval rocket head coach and you can see in the replies this is from 11 minutes ago by the way yeah I’m still awake hello how you doing but some of these replies are pretty cynical is he going to scratch young players or put them on the fourth line like he did in Columbus not a big fan of this move but I’ll let him give me the chance to prove me wrong welcome Pascal downgrade to all your Canadians prospects the guy’s going to scratch Sean frell and David reinbacher game one overrated terrible Choice excellent choice I hate this wow wow why did we hire the guy that pissed off David Ur and is busting Kent Johnson this is uh hm this is a move let’s go out there and read the Montreal Canadians website’s press release on Pascal Vincent being appointed the head coach of the Laval rocket oh boy here we go Laval rocket GM John Sedwick announced on Tuesday that Pascal Vincent has been named the head coach of the rocket in the AHL Vincent is set to bring nearly three decades of coaching experience to the Canadians minor league affiliate the Montreal Canadians organization is proud to welcome Pascal Vincent as the new new head coach of the Laval rocket with nearly 30 years of coaching experience at the AHL qmjhl and NHL levels Pascal brings a wealth of knowledge a passion for the game and a proven track record of both winning and Player Development okay um here’s the thing Pascal Vincent might have had winning and Player Development in a lot of his old teams but not at the NHL level with the Columbus Blue Jackets last year man absolutely not a the way this guy was deploying these younger players and now we scratched guys and played players in the fourth line and didn’t have any results in terms of wins as a result I mean the blue jacket still sucked and they didn’t really do a good job with their development Kent Johnson once out David Urich was frustrated Pascal Vincent was the guy so proven track record of winning and Player Development yeah maybe not recently said Sedwick his strong values collaborative mindset and tireless work ethic make him a great fit for our organization and the ideal person to work with our talented group of young players we are thrilled to be able to add a coach of his caliber and we are excited for what lies ahead you know I get it it’s all fan service you have to go out there and say things like this but if we just go over to Pascal Vincent’s Elite prospects page I mean some of the other teams that he was coaching and developing players in we can ignore Winnipeg he was an assistant coach coach there let’s go over to his head coaching days with the Manitoba moose who were the notable prospects that Pascal Vincent developed and actually had a time with in this organization um who was going out there and producing points I mean Mason Appleton not really a great player at the NHL level he’s fine but not really like fantastic Nick patan never amounted to anything Brendan Lemieux was in and out of the league Jack rosic I guess he had some good days yansen Harkin Tucker pulman okay um ah Kyle Connor but he only had four games played okay maybe not him next season 201819 Seth Griffith Logan Shaw I mean again none of these guys really were amazing Christian vesselin and had some time where he looked like he would be okay oh Jonathan kovich is in there too one game played and two points 201920 you had Seth Griffith here again not really a guy that ended up becoming much at the NHL level 2020 21 uh Nathan Todd Cole Peretti some guys have been in here a little bit honestly when it comes to Pascal Vincent and his quote unquote Player Development I don’t really see too many guys from the ahl’s Manitoba moose that ended up becoming significant NHL pieces that Vincent developed so uh huh I don’t know about that winning maybe okay maybe he’s got that winning touch at the AHL level but I don’t know about Player Development we’ll see Vincent 52 served as the assistant coach with the Blue Jackets in 2021 2022 and in 2022 2023 before being named head coach for 2023 2024 I do remember that when he was hired and Mike Babcock was kicked out and everything a lot of Blue Jackets fans were satisfied with that I don’t want to say acquisition he was already with the organization but with that promotion a lot of people were saying hey this could be good there could be some good chemistry built up here this could be a nice step in the right direction but unfortunately the Blue Jackets ended up with a team where the players were unhappy and the team was terrible this is where the article goes out there and talks about his Blue Jackets and during his time behind the bench the Blue Jackets held a record of 89 129 and 28 not a great record really not the native of Leal Quebec made his NHL debut as an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Jets a position he held from 201112 to 201516 before joining the Blue Jackets organization Pascal Vincent sered as the head coach of the ahl’s Manitoba Moose for Five Seasons during which he led the team to a 155 139 and 31 record and 325 regular season games even this that’s not even a winning record either what are they talking about he’s had a track record of winning and Player Development I don’t know about that man Vincent was awarded the Louie AR Pi Memorial award as the League’s outstanding coach for the 201718 season during the 1999 2000 campaign Pascal Vincent was named head coach of the Quebec qm jl’s capee Bretton Screaming Eagles he held this role for nine Seasons before joining the Montreal Juniors for three seasons he then coached his clubs to a cumulative record of 431 317 and 58 across 842 games in the junior circuit his coaching career took off in 1994 when he was named the assistant coach of the St Jean lyx in the qmjhl earning his first head coaching role with the Reon St Lal lauron oh boy I’m not going to be able to pronounce that in the M18 AAA league in the 1995 1996 season wow they really just went on to Elite prospects and took everything that he has done in the past and listed it out as a thing to write about here now honestly I’m kind of hating on this acquisition and that’s pretty apparent with the way that I’m talking about this stuff but to be honest Pascal Vincent I mean he’s not the worst candidate in the world you would have maybe liked to have seen a guy who has had a different track record or maybe even no track record at all be given an opportunity like this I know a lot of people were sort of buzzing that Vincent La cavaler could potentially be the guy maybe have him tag team it up with Marty St Louis like they did in Tampa Bay all those years ago but for Pascal Vincent to go from Columbus where he absolutely dropped the ball to the Laval rocket where now he’s going to be tasked with developing these Montreal young guys it does get me a little bit worried as to where the Habs Prospect pool is going to go for the next little bit here I mean some of these replies are absolutely lethal when it comes to Pascal Vincent and his track record making itself known in Montreal I mean terrible Choice he’ll scratch these guys who really knows let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about the Montreal Canadians farm team hiring Pascal Vincent as their head coach for 2024 2025 are you as worried or concerned about this as I seem to be because I’m making a big dramatic sort of commentary video here on YouTube is this warranted am I just kind of pulling strings at what used to be the situation in Columbus or is there actually reason to worry let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this v99 and bye

  1. When you make the ability to speak french a top requirement, this is what you get. Shame Montreal. The ability to be the best at your job should be the only requirement.

  2. Best stupidity of wanting French first over who deserves the job it's hampered Montreal for decades the worst thing Montreal does is go French first it's not a Canadian League anymore it's a world league

  3. This is an excellent hire. He's got a mandate, that mandate is part of his employment in Laval. He won't be scratching players. I played hockey with and against him years ago, he knows the game. He's better than JF Houle, trust the process. Sedgwick controls the direction of a lot of these players. Sedgwick will be a lot more hands on going forward.

  4. The NHL and AHL mandates being quite different, I'm not nearly as negative as you are about the hire. I didn't like what he did with the rookies in Columbus but some have pointed out that he was told to win and Babcock first being hired was highly hinting at that. We'll see what the future has in store but I do welcome Pascal and hope he helps our prospects!
