NYLANDER TO THE HABS? MONTREAL CANADIENS NEWS & RUMOURS (Alex Nylander, Blue Jackets)

[Music] so yesterday’s video talking about the Montreal Canadians and the idea of Mitch Marner heading over to the Habs was a pretty hot topic a lot of people Express their frustration with this idea even being discussed and you know what I totally get it I said it in the video that this was going to make a lot of people mad and it did So after talking about Marner to the Montreal Canadians why not go out there and stir the pot even more because we now have ourselves social media posts and ideas going out there and talking about another player that could potentially be a Canadian and no it’s not Marner this time we are talking about neander and no we are not talking about the Toronto B beliefs William neander nope nope nope that guy just signed an extension that guy will probably be a I believe for Life instead we are heading over to the free agent pool because if you take a look at this article published by TVA Sports on July 8th you’ll see this list of three options that the Canadians could go out there and Target and one of which is actually William neander Brother let’s talk today about Alexander neander because this is one of these guys who if you wanted to talk about players that could be just Absolut steals at whatever dollar amounts it is that they end up signing for a guy who has so much more to give at the NHL level and who kind of got screwed over by his team because they just did not put any effort into bringing him back Alex neander could potentially be that guy now at the time of recording this audio he is still a free agent if this video is public on YouTube and he had already signed somewhere by the time this is uploaded then okay we’ll make another video I guess talking about why I was wrong but I’m taking a chance here by making this video the morning before or the night before the morning it’s going to be uploaded so if this guy’s already signed then okay that’s my bad let’s talk though about William neander younger brother and why exactly it is he could be seen as a potential Habs Target this article on tvas sports.car a household name the younger brother of the prolific William his career was going nowhere until the Pittsburgh Penguins traded him last year to the Columbus Blue Jackets with the Ohio team neander exploded late in the season with 15 points including 11 goals in just 23 games at 26 however he is already suited up for four different NHL teams Buffalo Chicago Pittsburgh and Columbus a fact that is enough to scare NHL GMS the eighth overall pick in the 2016 draft could be on his fifth team next season if he is given another chance now this article of course goes out there and talks about three Montreal Canadians potential names they talk about Daniel sprong and they also talk about Tyler Johnson but I wanted to focus on neander not just because it makes for a funky headline oh neander to Montreal how great to make this video the day after making Marner to Montreal but because William neander Brother Alex actually does have some good potential here as a prospect Alex was seen by some as potentially being better than Williams of course this was almost a decade ago when Alex was drafted but there was a lot of hype and potential out of him especially during his days as a junior player he was absolutely lighting up tournaments on fire he had 12 points in seven games as an 18-year-old at that year’s World Juniors and as his career went on he was always pretty good in the AHL however as an NHL athlete Alex neander kind of got slowed down in 2020 2021 he played zero games with the Chicago Blackhawks was sent down to the wils spur scratton penguins in the Pittsburgh system and then bounced up and down in the pens Organization for the next two years this year though with the Columbus Blue Jackets as the article said 15 points 23 games played 11 goals and four assists Alex neander was a goal scoring Point producing machine after being acquired by Columbus this was highlighted by a hat trick that he had scored early on in his Columbus Blue Jackets career and then a few other multi-point games games and multi-goal games that paved the way for the rest of the season there too it’s kind of baffling honestly to think about why the Columbus Blue Jackets are not bringing him back I mean is he not exactly the kind of thing that you want a hot story a guy who’s going out there and lighting the lamp and a guy who happens to not be too old I mean 26 years old he’s still got a lot of time to establish himself more so as an 82 game NHL player I think at this point you don’t doubt the talent that’s there you just doubt the consistency and whether or not he’s able to do what he needs to do for a full 82 Game season he hasn’t really been given a shot in the NHL outside of these bottom feeder teams like Chicago and Columbus so it has been kind of rough for him the past little while heading into the off season though this was where a lot of people thought that the Blue Jackets would be able to resign him keep him in the top six and hopefully see him expand on the role that he had last season but to no aail he is a free agent now and if you wanted to say the bunch Canadians should try their hand at their own nander experiment this would make sense and if you talk about just where he could fit into the lineup hey I think there’s a second line Winger spot that if you really wanted to open the doors up it would be there Alex neander right-handed does have himself that ability to play on both wings I mean it’s even listed here on Elite prospects that he can play center as well so I guess he’s an all three forward positions kind of guy but either way this is a player who if you wanted to force him onto a line with Doc a new hook you wanted to move somebody else down that could make itself out to be an option I mean Kirby Doc is a pretty good playmaker you could say the same thing about new Hook and the way he’s able to dictate the game with his speed so for Alex neander if he’s able to put himself in the right areas get that shot through and just kind of feed off of the playmaking ability of the guys playing with him there could be some sort of a oh I don’t want to say like half a goal a game but maybe a goal every two and a half gamish kind of projection here I mean what is the math on that 1 divided 2.5 multiplied out by 82 he could be on Pace for about 30 goals that’s not that crazy right I mean his Columbus stint was so out of this world incredible it was half a goal a game that you have to think that there is some possibility that Neil Ander has that potential at the NHL level and it’s not just a case of okay Columbus doesn’t think that he has that in him right right you could make the argument and say okay well this guy could not make it on Chicago he could not make it on Pittsburgh he could not make it on Columbus he could not make it on Buffalo all these teams were kind of terrible when he was on him so what gives is this just the teams not being good and not really utilizing the talent they have or is there a problem with Alex neander himself and honestly I think I’m a lot more inclined to believe that it is the former rather than the latter of course we want to see players succeed we want to see players do well and we want to see prospects actually live up to their potential especially for a guy like Alex whom some people were saying could have been better than William neander when Alex was drafted so there is a conversation here that you could say the muncha Canadians could explore if he signs a contract by the time this video is uploaded then okay that’s my bad but for now let me know your thoughts in the comment section below how do you feel about the idea of the Montreal Canadians signing Alexander neander former Blue Jacket former saber Blackhawk and penguin what are your opinions on this player being added into the Canadians middle the top six is he somebody worth thinking about and if he does come to Montreal which may or may not happen how do you feel he is going to Fair what’s his point production going to be like how many goals does he score in an 82 Game season does he even play 82 games would he be good enough to actually crack the team fulltime let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed the99 and bye [Music] [Music]

  1. I knew before I clicked it was Alex 🤣..Alex Nylander is a true NHL bust..if the Habs ever got him? I would be in total stitches lol..I still cannot believe the Hawks gave us Jokiharju for him but then again the Sabres got Hasek from them also…please please please go get him Montreal 🤣

  2. I'm all for it! I know you touched upon this but I'm baffled as to why Columbus didn't resign him. With that production in 20 odd games it's surprising. Either way I'd gamble on him!

  3. His contract demands should create a zero risk situation for montreal . Why not take a flyer on him ? If he sticks awesome , if not, no Biggy just bury the contract in the ahl

  4. Out of the entire Leaf's roster Nylander is the player i'd be interested in, even more than Matthews. That being said it would never happen A the price would be astronomic B within same division but i like this idea of his younger brother with a decent safe short contract

  5. I usually love your content, but the daily fake trade rumors are getting old. I get you need to make a living, but it'd be cool to see something different sometimes. Thanks!
