The Best Moment of the 2024 Draft..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the NHL’s “inside the draft” video that they released on their YouTube channel yesterday.. There was some very “feels good” moments in this video from Montreal Canadiens 21st overall pick Michael Hage.. Not only did the Habs pick him.. But he WANTED to be picked.. He wanted to be a Montreal Canadien and guess what? He got his wish. I want this kid to be a star.

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

Let me know whatcha think of this one down in the comment section!

  1. These boys know what they are doing when drafting. This talented young man will bust his ass for the Habs. A fan favourite already. In fact we are building a whole team of them. Don't want to sound like a Leafs fan…but…I can feel a parade or two coming in a few years.

  2. Was an amazing moment. You can see the humility in this kid. Seems like a really nice guy. I think he flew a bit under the radar to a degree. Had a very slow 1st half and then cranked it up to around 2 PPG the second half. Plus he's fluent in French, a bonus. It's as close to picking pure laine without picking pure laine. GHG!

  3. I always thought the chip on Wrights shoulder from not being first would drive him to become a force.

I’m getting the sense that draft success is not about picking the correct players but more about having a strong focus on development. And ours has seemed to be doing well recently, I think that bodes well for guys like Demidov and Hage.

  4. Hage grew up in the GTA while Matthews was winning Rockets, watching Habs teams featuring the likes of Jordan Weal, Alex Belzile, Byron Froese, Brandon Davidson etc. and still rode with us. He got that dawg in him.

  5. They got two 1st rounders that want to play in Montreal. The Hage story is extra special though and I have the same thoughts…I'm rooting for this kid to succeed and see him play in Montreal. Hopefully he'll develop into an impact player in the top 6. He'll likely take time to adapt to the NHL level and reach his ceiling, get shit on for not being an instant star but likely has the mental toughness to stay focused and move forward. I'll definitely be tracking his NCAA progress. πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

  6. I think the Habs left some more promising players on the board at 21, but I'm hoping this kid gets an added boost due to the fact he's playing for the team his family grew up cheering for. This team doesn't need another middle-6er, it needs a top-6er.
