  1. Colin Rea an outstanding start. Jared Koenig effectively got out of bases loaded jam. Brian Hudson was solid. Trevor Megill got the job done closing the door. And this good pitching is nice to see after yesterday's good round of pitching. Hoby Milner and Joel Payamps both were successful after Tobias Myers had a nice start. Things are looking great!

  2. Yelich goes down… I actually think this works to the Brewers favor. The Brewers have FIVE outfielders that need regular at bats. By pulling Yelich out, it definitely opens the door for Perkins to get more opportunities. Now, if Perkins flubs his chances, there is Brewer Hicklen waiting in the weeds. I think the Brewers were pretty clear they didn't want to lose Brewer Hicklen just yet when they made room for him on the 40 man roster.

  3. at what point can we have the Ortiz and Hoskins conversation, these guys are showing to be a liability out there, when you have Baurs and Monesterio who are better and giving you more, then you have to make the change, i cant watch these guys ruin the lineup being auto outs anymore, sometimes you gotta make the tough changes, but comon man is everyone blind

  4. churio isnt the problem, neither is turang, neither is bunting, bunting is something that is winning baseball and should be done way more, the problems is 2 guys in this lineup, ortiz and hoskins – these guys are making this lineup horrible, churio must hit 5th, then mitchel, then frelick, then baurs, then monesterio, as far as im concerned ortiz and hoskins have lost their jobs, turang belongs in lead off position cause he's earned it

  5. I would absolutely go with the proven veteran in Sanchez, especially if we’re in a heated pennant race. Also, Sanchez is a former longtime Yankee. Lots of playoff experience. If Haase is out of options, try and seek a trade. Don’t get me wrong though, I like Haase.Edit: Winning close, low scoring games serves as perfect ‘playoff’ practice. These types of games show the true grit of your team. And you need a ton of grit come playoff time. Speedy recovery for Yelich. We need him. However, that clears a roster spot for Haase and we could bring up Ashby.

  6. In a 162 game MLB schedule. You're gonna have games and stretches like this.Where you don't play as well defensively, offensively But the key is you want to scratch out enough victories and peek at the right time End of august & september But as a Brewer's fan.Yes I was pissed at how they played But this is an extremely Young team That was a hell of a victory. That's the kind of victory .You're going to need in the playoffs Nail biter close game low scoring go brewers!

  7. Baserunning aggressiveness is a double-edged sword. You're going to get some outs when the defense makes a good play on a player trying to use their speed to put pressure on the D. The Brewers have been one of the best baserunning teams in baseball this year (2nd per Fangraphs BsR rating) and guys like Chourio have been a huge reason for that. PCA made an underrated and athletic play to field that ball going into the gap, turn and fire a perfect strike to 2B at an angle that didn't allow for much back-up. I get what Murphy is trying to do by holding the players accountable, but the Brewers don't need to change their mindset on the basepaths one bit because its largely why they are in the position they are right now.

The bunting is a different story. NEVER bunt on a 3-0 count. NEVER NEVER NEVER. The Ortiz bunt was executed poorly, a pop up isn't going to advance the runners anyway even if Bote isn't crashing like that. With the speed the Brewers have, its a better bet to either steal the bag to advance or simply try to hit the ball on the ground and leg one out. Keep running wild, but stop giving away outs with bunts – that should be the message today.

  8. Sanchez is essentially this year's Josh Donaldson except they paid a lot more for him. They will stick with him for better or worse IMO. Other than the run on contact from 3rd mentality, I like Murphy's management. He's old school, no B.S. from what I see and hear.

  9. Their offense is so inconsistent. To many games where they do nothing. Cubs have good pitching, but c’mon, have to be able to hit it to the outfield with a man on third
