Although I will be nervous during every single one of his at-bats this season, A win is a win. WE BACK (literally).
Hmm, interesting news after the early reporting. If he’s going to play more this year, the worry would be once he plays again he’s back to hitting ground balls 100% of the time and no longer looks like the Yeli we got early this year.
Thank you daddy
My gut tells me that this might not be the best decision for him and next year’s performance. I think the World Series window is more realistic next year when we get our pitching back
Must be a tough call for him to make, I gotta believe he’s listening to his doctors. The other guys stepped up in his absence admirably earlier in the year. Time for more Rake Perkins.
In before everyone gives their opinion on his medical decisions without any of his medical records, scans, or multiple doctors opinions 🙄 No one cares if you think this is the right call
Feels like it’s just delaying the inevitable. Would hate for him to come back and tweak it again and it just turn into an endless cycle.
I mean the tweet says offseason surgery is likely, so not out of the woods. But if he sits a 15 days to a month and comes back and plays through the stretch run like he did the first half, this is a great plan. Can still get the surgery right after this year, and if he has to sit awhile into next year so be it. You know you’re contending now, you don’t know next year if you will or not, makes sense to hold off and go for it this year
Hyped because I thought he’d be gone for the year but also worried we’re just kicking the fan down the road. He’s probably going to have surgery eventually regardless
We’ll need him in the playoffs
Christian should just ask this sub for back massagers and I bet he’d have an on-call retinue several dozen deep who’d be available 24/7.
Bad backs suck. Good news not getting the knife.
I’m 40 and had a spinal fusion at 33 and 38. Back started going at 29 and I’m 6’2” 160lbs. I only played softball and had to quit at 30. I can’t imagine how swinging a bat so fiercely will impact Yeli’s health.
I still struggle everyday. Good luck my friend. Backs never get better they only get worse. Look at Tiger Woods
The issue is that back surgery is not as black and white as say knee surgery. Sometimes it can be a fix, sometimes not. It’s not a guarantee. Probably viewed as a last resort here, depending on what the underlying issue is
