  1. Blake Perkins is a clutch hitter. We need a starting pitcher more than a hitter. And we have a dreadful record of free agent sluggers. They should have kept Carlos Santana. Hoskins isn’t carrying his weight. We can’t afford legitimate power hitters.

  2. How enjoyable has it been to stick it to Craig Counsell all season and see what he’s going through. I thank the baseball gods that the Cubs took Craig Counsell from us and we hired Pat Murphy.

  3. Definitely don’t see a need for a hitter on the Crew. This is traditionally the type of situation in which you turn to the younger guys on the team to pick it up a bit. It’s experiences like this that will get the younger guys even more ready for a true pennant race. The team, as it stands, is still in first place and playing well. In all honesty, it’s making more sense to stand pat. Pun intended. Don’t we have a few more players coming off the IL soon? I know Devin Williams is coming back.

  4. It's amazing how we are treading water, with Hoskins not hitting and Contraras, Turang & Ortiz struggling in June & July, and every other guy on the IL.
With our complete loss of power, we should run even more and earlier in counts. Be even more aggressive on the base paths. Like today. 3 times we got a hit to the outfield, but runner from 2nd didn't score.

  5. Over his career, Peralta has been very good after the break. We really need that. I criticize him all the time, not because he's not good. He's good, but can be Cy Young good. Look at the Minnesota game. The first 3 times he had hitters in 0-2 counts. The 9 pitches that followed, 8 were more than 8 inches out of the strike zone. Wasted. No one swings at those pitches. Could have gone another inning and saved the pen.

  6. Yelich down… Great opportunity for Murphy to strut his stuff and maximize the opportunities for Chourio, Frelick, Mitchell, Perkins, and possibly Brewer Hicklen. With Yelich down does the defense really suffer? If so, name names. Who can't defend as good or better than Yelich in left field? Maybe Jake Bauers who got a start in left field, but that was a rare occasion. So, Yelich has decent offensive numbers, no doubt. But, if Murphy can use competition and all his other tricks to get his young players to maximize their potential, the crew should do just fine.

  7. Don't discount Pittsburgh. Arizona was very similar last year: hung around for a couple months, started to play well, then they became so volcanically hot, they made the World Series. You don't want to see the front of that rotation in a playoff series.

  8. They need one or two starters and maybe trade Gary Sanchez for an outfielder or DH to fill the spot. Eric Hasse is doing great as the back up catcher. Gary Sanchez either hits a homerun or strikeout.

  9. The ads and repetition on this are relentless. Putting Luis robert and Pham on the same list? First time listener, just jumped out. One costs the farm, the other a prospect if Sox are lucky. Where’s the analysis? Those potential transactions are light years away.
