“We’ve come a long way,” Epps said of Moehrig. “We’ve gotten on that level where we’re just starting to be on the same wavelength and know what the other person is doing.”
• Whether he’s lined up deep or as a slot defender, Pola-Mao has been effective as the third safety. His size and length help him deal with larger receiving threats, but he also has the foot speed to stick with quicker targets.
“It’s very good for a young guy to see them crave learning and crave to improve their football IQ, and I feel like he’s been doing that since last year,” Epps said. “He’s just been growing and growing.”
I hope this is just demonstrating how strong our defense is and not how bad our QB situation is
Really hoping that Getsy and one of the QB’s can get on the same page ASAP!
So many years I’ve been pumped about our defense doing well in training camp, but it turns out our offense is just dog shit. With a little luck maybe our defense will be amazing and our offense will just be pedestrian.
Mid-tier QBs in a new system VS above average safeties in their 3rd year of a system……
Yeah, I hope they’re doing better.
Just a preview of what Mahomes and Herbert have to deal with
Hopefully it will only make the offense better
Unfortunately this will be a reoccurring theme.

I refuse to start any overreaction until we see preseason action.
I am confident that AOC has talent and a good attitude. I am confident Minshew knows why he’s there, and can show him how to be tough in the league and last. I can’t say anything for the other two but maybe they’ll learn from them both. Pierce seems big on learning and improving and adapting.

• On defense, starting safeties [Marcus Epps](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/nfl/player/marcus-epps-riR2rbH2NU7R4CwW/) and [Tre’von Moehrig](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/nfl/player/trevon-moehrig-ONvxym2hsd71MivV/) have developed a strong chemistry. They consistently limit explosive plays downfield while breaking on passes and making plays on the ball.
