He would have been my vote for the Calder. Yes Bedard put up more points and was electric when he touched the puck. But man Bedard was horrible in his defensive zone. Faber all around game was better. Played against #1 lines and didn’t look out of place at all for a rookie. Dude is going to win a few Norris trophies in the future.
8,5 million, jesus
I love it. Most of r/wildhockey was expecting a $9m number
Sieder just over there grinning in the corner.
Whoooooeeeeeee, I am pumped to sign this home town kid, he’s been fun to watch after following him at the gopher’s.
Deserving of the money, hope he keeps up the hard work.
Perfect time to add his jersey to my collection.
Faber naturally a gem but
Horrible desperation contract
No reason to sign him early, no chance he plays well enough next year to deserve an 8×10 and this is theoretically a bargain
Not to mention last season he was 40% WAR
At 22 he’s likely in prime or close to it
In other news, water is wet.
When you have a player like Seider, Faber, Makar, or whoever else who blossoms into a top 4 role so quickly in the NHL you lock them up quick because if you don’t it’s gonna cost a lot more after a bridge deal. Faber is a unique elite talent and I’m excited to see what he’s got. Minnesota could definitely have one of the best defence cores in the league when Spurgeon comes back.

Does that seem…premature and excessive?
