  1. Trading Willy Adames would be an even bigger mistake than the Josh Hader debacle. In fact , they should resign him long term. Besides being the team leader, Adames is clutch, very steady on D, exceptionally durable, the consummate team player, and seemingly a genuine person who is involved with the community. Ownership cannot get gun-shy about paying players without team control. Players and individuals like Willy Adames do not come a long often. Pay the man.

  2. Im ok with trading Weimer, we've got our outfield core already, Id like to keep Junis, but this guy is the real deal, once again, great move, I like that new reliever we got also.

  6. The adames trade is hard because truly next years team is possibly the real contenders ? With woodruff coming back, I think they might have that one two three punch with starting pitching. I dont see this team going deep in the playoffs but they could fool me . They need to show that they can beat the dodgers and phillys get to the world series .

Don’t look now, but not only are we just 1 1/2 games behind the Dodgers for the number 2 seed, the Phillies are really struggling lately, and now we are just 4 games out of the top seed in the National League. Despite all the injuries, there’s still time to make a run at a playoff scenario where we can skip the wildcard and have home-field as much as possible in the National League playoffs.

  8. Let me say right now I don't like this trade at all. Junis was excellent (other than the one HR Derby type pitch to Santana in Minnesota). I thought he deserved another start.

  10. A few years ago, Hader was getting slammed letting 4 and 5 run leads go bad. The Brewers traded Hader, and it was the right move. William Contreras is what the Brewers got.
    Willie Adamis on the other hand is having success and will stay with the Brewers. The Brewers are still looking to win it all this year.

  11. Not liking the trade. Junis has been a important part of the pen of late. They get a guy who era over 5. Weimer was going to be odd man out. Another at best a 5 starter. Big mistake.

  13. No way would they trade Mitchell. Their best bet to win it all is next year when they get Woodruff and Gasser back. Jake Bauers is about as good as you're going to get anyway as you never getting a Yelich in trade.

  15. When you trade little, you gain little. Brewers get an unspectacular but (presumably) healthy starting arm to help limp out this injury cursed season, come what may. This move says "hoping for a miracle performance, but mostly looking to next year again". They should have a healthy Woody, Gasser, Hall back in the mix along with Perralta, Myers and Rea. That's a solid group. An impactful but costly rental pitcher probably doesn't make sense in the big picture.
