Welcome to the 5th day of training camp! Will be posting a new thread each day showing highlights, player/offense/defense performance, and any general updates from our reporters at camp! If you see anything that stands out please post a link in this thread and I'll add it to this post to make it easier for everyone else to see and catch up!

Much less updates, reporters asked not to tweet play by plays, but I'll post some updates for those without Twitter and recaps when they're posted.
Pads on today
The staring offense line has gotten the better of the backup D Lineman in the run game so far. A lot of space for Bijan and Allgeier so far
Charlie Woerner just got love from the coach for a block he made to spring Bijan
David Onyemata has stuffed multiple plays so far
Bijan Robinson seemed to get something going every time he took a handoff in 11s. Tyler Allgeier didn’t have as much success.
Jessie Bates just intercepted Cousins over the middle. Completely read the route.
Cousins went 8-11 and while still good wasn’t nearly as dominant as previous days. All of his completions looked to come within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.
Michael Penix goes 6-9 passing. Also a lot of very short passes but had the longest completion (and best pass of the day) on what looked like a 20 yard connection to Hodge over the middle.
– Grady Jarrett looked quick
– Dorlus repped before Orhorhoro
– Bertrand w/2nd team LBs
– Trice got some work with 1s D
– Woerner had a block that made OL coach happy cuss
– Andersen in a lot with 1s but Landman took over in RZ
– Penix accuracy not great
– Cousins got picked by Bates
– Lots of pre-snap penalties, mostly 2s
– Steve Wilks was here
-Atlanta Falcons OT Tyler Vrabel, son of former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, has been put on the reserve/retired list. WR Isaiah Wooden has been released.
Raimondi's Recap:
— Falcons owner Arthur Blank spoke to the media for the first time in months, saying he is more optimistic about this season than he has been in several years
— Blank said he was aware Atlanta would draft QB Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8 and he was in favor of a QB succession plan rather than what happened after Matt Ryan, a franchise QB limbo which he equated to the “spin cycle in the washing machine and not being able to get out”
— Tuesday was the first practice with pads, which was a celebration for both lines
— This was the best the defense has played thus far, in no small part because of the increased intensity
— The offense seemed more committed to the running game, led by RB Bijan Robinson’s seven carries and Tyler Allgeier’s four with the first team
— On the second team, rookie RB Jase McClellan led the way with six carries, with Carlos Washington Jr. (5) and Avery Williams (3) behind him
— QB Kirk Cousins was 8-of-11 passing with TE Charlie Woerner his most frequent target (3 catches) in 11-on-11 drills
— WR Drake London and TE Kyle Pitts both caught two passes from Cousins
— Pitts has had a good camp and Tuesday might have been his best day, particularly a 1-on-1 drill where he beat S Demarcco Hellams three straight times for touchdown grabs from Cousins
— S Jessie Bates III, fresh off being the highest ranked safety in Madden 25, had his first interception of camp, a pick of Cousins
— It was a good day for tight ends — Ross Dwelley had one of the best catches of camp, a diving grab from Penix
— Penix was 6-of-10 passing with WR KhaDarel Hodge his top receiver (2 catches)
— DL Demone Harris got more run with the 1s than he had been in previous practices
— DT David Onyemata continued his strong play, as the majority of the penetration from the line so far is coming from the interior
— LB Nate Landman had one of the best defensive plays of camp, snuffing out a screen pass from Penix to WR Rondale Moore
— There haven’t been any fights in Falcons camp, but OG Matthew Bergeron got into it a bit with LB Milo Eifler and S Lukas Denis
— K Younghoe Koo went 4-of-6 on field-goal attempts, missing 47- and 57-yard tries, but nailing a 52-yarder
— New WR signings James Washington and Jesse Matthews were both at practice
— Falcons are back at it Wednesday morning before a day off Thursday and an open practice at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Friday
