[McCalvy] – Matt Arnold on not adding a bat: “Ultimately, we decided that the team we have here offensively, was a group that we like a lot. We certainly did explore alternatives there.” Said the desire to continue letting Milwaukee’s young hitters play was “a big factor.”

Who the fuck called this? Someone in another post earlier pretty much nailed what was going to be said almost word for word lloll
I could have told you word for word what he was going to say before he said it. But I agree, let the young guys get AB.
Good he’s probably right.
It’s not a popular decision but I think it’s the right one. Let the young guys get more game action so they’re better prepared when the team is ready to make a serious push. I’d like to think they’ll take a step forward next year (if they’re not decimated by injuries again) and they’re going to be relying on a lot of players they probably would’ve had to give up.
Yup, now bring up Tyler Black
4 years of getting bounced in the first round because of lackluster bats and we’re still don’t add one. Both of our 1B options are batting .220. Fun stuff.
Makes sense. I believe this year more than others we were active (backed up by the lack of leaks using milwaukee as leverage). Its just the price and players were not right.
Unfortunately when you are this young your top would be prospects to trade are in the mlb and are needed. And it just may have lined up that the prices were too high or straight up the guys we wanted the selling team just was not interested in what we were willing to trade vs what other teams were offering.
It may not even be a better deal it may just be a specific player they are higher on even if that player is ranked lower than what we offer. I mean you look at our starters are im not sure there were any big enough upgrades that would justify the cost.
I think just about anyone who was dealt that we realistically could have gotten would have been a wash vs what we have.
“We’ve got big plans”…nothing happens…every…year.
i think this is the correct approach. would like to see someone like Black get more exposure at the big league level. Mitchel needs to play, we need to know what we have there. Same with Sal Frelick.
With Yelich not healthy, they needed a bat.
Offense is much worse without him
He must be very confident in his recovery process
Aren’t we like number 4 in the majors in batting average?
Based MA.
I would like to see Contreras get some rest in August and September, I think Turang could also benefit from some rest
Honestly… i dont see this team being 1 or 2 moves away from being a major WS contender so im good with the small upgrade
Pathetic organization. You can’t tell me executives watched this team the last few weeks and thought “yeah, this is the stuff”
