Hey NFL, you want the game to be more safe for players? Put natural grass in all the stadiums, stop being cheap mf'ers 🥱
Should have just had kick offs at the 30 if they wantes to see more returns.
Wake up it’s the first of the month🤫🤫🤫🧏🧏🧏🧏
Im not a fan of the new format but Im glad we have kevonte turpin as our returner hed going to feast He going to lead the league im return tds DC4L
Safety doesn't matter they want more run backs less fair catches
Having a holder and them running off the field is terrible
Where can I sign the petition to go back to the original format?
Folks gonna get murked with this 💯
So dumb
All 2024 Kick-off scenarios:
Live ball scenarios:
– Any ball fielded in-bounds = RETURN ELIGIBLE (Fair catches within field of play eliminated)
– Ball lands beyond the 20yd line & stays within the field of play = LIVE BALL
Touchback scenarios:
– Ball reaches End Zone via ground = BALL ON 20
– Ball reaches End Zone via air = BALL ON 30
Illegal kickoff scenarios:
– Ball goes out of bounds in the field of play OR lands short of the 20yd line = BALL ON 40
You gotta be fast as hell to break one
This made the kickoff interesting again. We’ll see if it’s better/worse but it’s definitely interesting.
What about onside kicks? 🤔
Lol look ay these teams with bad return units hahahah
I crazy or did the hits look more violent/hard than the usual kick offs? Lmao.
If these rules were in effect when Devin Hester played, he would not be in the Hall of Fame today. Shame on the NFL for constantly trying to fix a game that's not broken.
dear NFL no
Yeah idk it doesn’t even look natural
Bunch of haters in the comments. These are men. Stop being so soft. This. Is. Great!
NFL just took a big L
This is disgusting
What’s the deal with them highlighting in green the 20-yard area the return men are standing within?
People are gonna cry and complain because it’s something different but I like it. It’s way better than just seeing fair catches every kickoff.
Maybe a little safer, maybe not, but a whole lot more boring. Awful returns. It’s almost like they’re trying to sabotage the new rule. If these were run plays, they would all be for no gain.
They gotta switch to the old rules ASAP
So now instead of a stream of people to weave through, they now have to run into a wall. Ok…
Just another thing that they stole from the XFL/UFL.
For all those thinking that it seems no safer now or there still are still big hits, the new rule is more to stop the big hits from the other 10 guys blocking after their opponents used to run at them at full speed. That’s why the players are lined up so close and can’t move till the returner gets the ball. It’s almost the same risk now of running a normal play because no more huge running starts for defenders. CTE concerns and blockers/defenders are much more likely to get hurt the old way. Returners weren’t the ones taking the brunt of the punishment. Even now a returner does have a chance to protect himself and not take the brunt of a hit whereas blockers used to always have to take the brunt of hits.
Whether you look the new kickoff or not the bottom line is do you wanna see returns or not and we’re at least getting that with the new kickoff so this is better 💯
All the people saying the new kickoffs stink don't watch football.
Regardless of safety, how are you going to continue to call it football if you remove the foot portion of the sport?
NFL: we want player safety
Also NFL: we're gonna be playing an 18 game schedule in the next few years!
It's like the pickle ball version of a classic NFL kickoff.
I think a lot of teams will opt to kick it out of the back of the end-zone and let the opponent start on the 30.
They need to stop making changes to the game for no reason smh 🤦🏻♂️
Hmmm this modified kickoff rule looks very very verrrrry familiar….almost like you stole it from the now defunct XFL which merged with the now defunct USFL to become the United Football League
If they want to really make the new kickoff rule interesting then the kick returner should be able to throw a forward pass as long as he doesnt pass the 20 yard line.
XFL 2023. As you watch these, you will see why when the UFL formed, they took the USFL kickoff rules, and abandoned the XFL kickoffs.
This is stupid
What’s with the holders?
For those who don’t understand kickoffs were leading to injuries for the blockers and gunners very often before which this new style prevents. Being tackled was the least violent part of returning a kick (usually).
You can make everything woke fine, BUT STOP MESSING WITH FOOTBALL!!!!!
Safer? 😭💀
Just go back to the old kickoff rules
