  1. As for RHP, one door closes, another one opens.

Perhaps Florian Xhekaj could be his replacement.

At least he has the size, the skill and the intimidation factor compared to RHP.

  2. Laine would be better in Washington or Utah. He would have fun playing with Ovi but for his journey maybe more Utah it feels almost like a dry state after all 🙂

  3. Coach, you changed you tune about Laine. At first, you did not want anything to do with. He could probably flourish under MLS, and get his scoring touch again 30+ goals. I am sure management would explain how he could contribute to the team success. He is a 60-70 points player under the right circumstances and still young at 26.

  4. Laine would be wroth a try for the Habs if it doesn't cost much, RHP is on the down side already so i don't see him being with the Habs for long, Jeff Marek must of done something that Sportsnet didn't like, the Habs are stack in the goalie prospect Hughes did a great job, Josh Anderson a team may take a flyer on him but there is no rush to trade him now patience is a vertu great video Coach

  5. Depending on the price for Laine. The contract is only 2 years, and our contracts clear up in 3, so it fits. And yes, he might be tradable.
RHP, I never considered him a future asset. I donfeel bad for him.
We have a great goalie pipeline. Are any of them tradable IF Fowler is the man?
We discussed Anderson yesterday … I would love him as part of the Laine trade, somehow.

  6. habs can wait a year for anderson, beck mesar florian tuck etc aren't ready, why waste draft picks to onload him, lastly, easier to trade him with 2 years left on his contract then 3.👍

  7. If Andy has a decent season could be palatable for a rebuilding/low salary team if we throw in an asset. If worse comes to worst, he has a terrible year and becomes essentially untradeable you're only stuck with for 1 additional year. A buyout becomes an option summer 2026 that won't hamstring you on the cap too much and will be off the books by 2028…so there are options.

  8. he will come back to 20 goals, brings size and grit on the wing, toughness. People are just thrilled about Gallagher, they don't care about his contract because 'he's got Karakter' lol. They were all hot for the french midget, RHP, but hey lets bail on a 6'3 winger who had a bad year , too funny. Nobody is taking his contract, so live with him and set him up for success on the PP and get him going again. Move him at the deadline when he has 15 goals, he will bounce back this year

  9. Long, Long Long overdue to trade him. But you have to add something to get people to take that 3 x 5.5$ million he has left.
I guess taking on two years of $8.7 million of Laine makes some sort of sense. But he doesn't help the team either so you are just waiting for the clock to run out for him too.
That would reduce us this year to about 7$ million in space and then the 10.5 for Carey Price LTIR.
After this year armia and dvorak are gone so another $7.85 million out the door and then finally Laine and Price will come off the books at the same time.

  10. Laine's substance abuse is an issue, an addiction, that grabs hold of the individual just like that Colorado guy stud winger Valeri Nichushkin. That is where the higher risk be in my opinion.

  11. Josh Anderson is still a power forward although he had a bad year scoring. Why does everyone want to bail on him? Anderson has size, can skate and pass hopefully his scoring returns this fall. Cheers

  12. Sad to see RHP injured but we do have depth at left wing with Alex Barré-Boulet, Emil Heineman, Joshua Roy, Luke Tuch, Sean Farrell, Jared Davidson. Cheers

  13. Actually coach RHP got injured in a softball game between current and former Laval players not in a hockey game! Ran into another player in center field. Your welcome

  14. I didnt want anything to do with laine, BUT if we can get him for Mesar, and a 3rd round pick, im all in, low risk, high reward, thats what we need. So, make it happen Coach!

  15. I can see Anderson going to a team like Columbus and scoring 35 goals, kind of like John Leclair did! lol. (I dont mean LeCLair went to Columbus, i meant that when he left the habs for Philly, he pretty much immediately put up 50 goals, and couldnt get past 25 in montreal.

  16. I dont think Columbus want to give first draft pick to get ride of Laine, a couple team are interested. Columbus is in no hurry to get space cap, i dont think they will win the cup next year? Monahan situation in Calgary was very different, they wanted sign Kadri and wanted win. The demand for Monahan was not very high since he got alot injury years earlier. Calgary wanted ride of him…I dont think Laine is in the same situation. You want Laine so much that you let your heart talk not your head. =) Anderson nobody will wanted him, once again you talk with your heart, if you were a GM in the NHL would you take anderson in your team? Trade Dvorak or Armia is more realistic. I like your podcast but you talk with your emotion not with your head!

  17. I hear that Laine wants to play in LA. But if he likes the city of Montreal. He could be a steal. He has played in Winnipeg and Columbus. Not world class cities. He just wants to play in a good city. I think Montreal is a great city and he may think so too. The key is if he wants to live in Montreal

  18. No team in the nhl is in the market for Josh Andersen, he brings nothing to the table. You’re stuck with him for the next 3 unfortunately
