Let me know your thoughts on The Sens Off-Season
Definitely put his mark on this team. Think they're a big time R D away from a playoff spot though and unfortunately way too many natural centers on the team and not enough natural wingers.
Staios seems to have a good hand on the wheel of Ottawa.
Even if this isn't a winning formula, he has the team pretty loose for moving cap around to make tweaks here and there next year or offseason.
Especially with the dumping of Korp
They need to trim some fat. Chabot or Norris don’t bring what they’re paid. Would be nice if they could move one of them so we can add some depth
Ottawa is in NO position to even dream about winning a Stanley Cup soon so Staios should not have traded away a 1st round pick to land Ullmark. This is why despite not making the playoffs for seven years in a row we have one of the most empty pipelines of talent in the system…we KEEP trading our picks away.
Ullmark will help Ottawa win a few more games and make sure we get a lesser pick in each round next year and that is all (sound of me face palming) and then he will walk.We should have drafted at least one Goalie but nope.
Staios could have traded down in the 1st round, acquired an asset and STILL drafted Yakemchuk (although I like the pick). He completely reached on Eliason in the 2nd round and again could have traded down for another asset and still taken him in the 3rd (probably in the 7th). His other picks were fine but two big reaches in the first two rounds are not the way to draft.
He should have traded away Chabot (expensive and always hurt) and received a 1st rounder and easily another pick in round two or three. He didn't get enough for Chychrun IMO especially considering how much we traded away to bring him here and he has Ottawa roots so he should have never been moved. Brannstrom will no doubt have a breakout year now that he's gone.
The other moves are meh, basically sideways moves that are rather inconsequential. Garbage in garbage out.
Ottawa will be forfeiting a 1st round pick in 2026 and it's only a matter of time before Staios trades next year's 1st rounder for an overpaid lazy American who doesn't want to be here in another short sighted and vainglorious attempt to make the playoffs but no doubt we'll get swept in the first round or not even make it to the postseason at all.
If I were an NHL GM I would have Staois' number on speed dial.
I could have done a much better job. My grade is an "F". Haters to my comments can go Staios's grade themselves.
Love the channel. Cheers from Ottawa.🍁
It was a 26OA pick to offload Korpi and get Ullmark. Chill
Staios is the front runner for GM of the year for cleaning up Duhhhhrion’s mistakes.I still can’t believe he was able to get Korpisalo out and Ullmark in.
The bottom pair on D is so bad and there really is no depth there. I’m surprised they didn’t buy out Hamonic to get a stronger a D. I get not getting Shattenkirck at this point since they kept Hamonic but it’s really risky trying him again, he was absolute garbage last year. They can’t keep overplaying Sandy and Chabot.
Tarasenko produces more and takes much fewer penalties than Perron
