They are likely going 3-4 base defense. in the depth chart released the other day he was listed under EDGE. That chart makes it look like they could run a 5-2 base since 3 DTs are listed.
We have known this since he changed his number. He can’t be listed as a DE and wear 19. Same reason Reddick was listed as a LB.

It’s a 3-4-ish base defense. Three DTs, two edge, two off-ball LBs. Whether the edge rushers are listed as DE or LB isn’t important.
Sweat will chase the QB 90% of his snaps. Don’t worry.
All positions in modern today are arbitrary. What’s listed on paper is just formality.

Modern NFL it really doesn’t matter…4-3 and 3-4 are just in name mostly at this point…plus you need to play nickel so much you are not in base as much as you used to.
