I know he has enough money to stay at the Ritz Carlton for the rest of his life, but Andrei is welcome to sleep on my Montreal couch everyday of the week
I hope we can have a celebration of his career just like we did for PK. Andrei Markov was a stud and with most teams would have his jersey in the rafters.
The fact that he’s second highest point scoring defender in Habs history is nuts. Four out of the top five are in the hall. I know nothing in the nhl is handed to you, but that organization did him dirty.
What do Sheldon Souray, Mark Streit, PK Subban and Shea Weber have in common ? That’s right, they all scored a lot of goals because of Markov savant passes. Not the flashiest guy in and off the ice, but was arguably the best Habs not named Price of the last generation.
Give him 10 more games while we’re tanking dammit
We should sign him and play him for the last 10 games as soon as we are eliminated.
I took Markov for granted during all my youth. Never realized how good we had it with him.
Such a clown move from MB to not resign Markov to whatever he was asking.

I never played an EA NHL game without Markov on my back line. He was the anchor of my team, just like he was an anchor on the Habs.
Bergevin did some stuff I don’t like. That’s just bound to happen with any management team. We’re fans, we have opinions, but we don’t make the calls.
The Markov contract is one I will forever hold against him, though. It’s pure pettiness. It’s dick waving contest biceps club bullshit. You cultivate loyalty, you don’t fucking buy it in the shape of a dog.
I wonder if Markov would one day visit Mtl. and see Bergevin walking down the street(out of coincidence). What would his reaction be?
This habs fan was so pissed off when bargain bin decided to sign Alzner instead of Markov.
Bring this man back as a PP coach. We haven’t had anyone who understands how to draw an extra defender to open up a shot lane for another player since he was let go.
His breakout passes were a thing of beauty, too. Would send Subban flying to the offensive zone with the puck landing just besides his stick.
Out of all of Bargain Bin’s bullshit moves, this was his worst. Letting the man go, lying about him refusing a 1 year contract and then signing an already washed up Alzner to the same money Markov wanted. Just pure vindictive, power trip bullshit.
Too bad mgmt fucked him
We love you Markov. Bergy did you dirty and we hate him for it. He should have had his 1000 games here.
