1. Kris Letang…. No thanks. 5-10 years ago, sure let's talk. But not now. He's on the back end of his career and has a long injury history too. Plus he will only be further blocking our young D.

15. If Letang did, in fact, ask for a trade out of Pittsburgh, it might be a tip off that Crosby may be heading out of town as well. We’ve been told over and over that the Penguins are looking to make one last run with their core three (four?). If one of them is looking to get out of town, that may not be the plan after all.

    Not saying for a minute that Crosby would come to Montreal. I don’t see him wanting to join a rebuilding team, and he doesn’t really fit into the Canadiens’ plans. But I could see him in Colorado.

16. Do you think the Penguins would give Letang away??? Im sure the Habs would not give up what GM Dubas would of wanted back? No sense losing one of our top dman prospects + for an aging star dman that wont be around when the team is ready to start winning again. It would of beem awesome to see Letang skating in a habs jersey but the team isnt at the stage to bring him in right now. Letang will probably stay and finish in Pitt cause I dont see him going to a contender unless all 3 stars decide they want another crack at a cup and think Pitt wont get the job down in next 2 yrs

21. Maybe send Savard for Letang? I mean from what Savard brings is important, but Letang has been through this rebuild type process. He grew into the winner Pittsburgh needed in a similar situation the young D core is going through now… I appreciate Savard for his experience and effort, but I really believe that Letang can teach a more winning pedigree.

27. If the price is reasonable (by which, I mean reasonable cheap), I’d definitely consider trading for Letang… next summer. This season isn’t the time to add a vet like Letang. But if we can unload some salary this year, as well as acquire some more “trade-able” assets. Give our current roster a little more time to grow. I wouldn’t mind at all seeing Habs get a little aggressive. I’d love to see us make an honest attempt at signing Crosby (if available). And if adding a close friend and top RD veteran would better our odds of making that happen, sign me up!

30. I would be in favor of bringing in Letang if it meant Guhle moving back to the left side. I would expect Mattheson to be traded to Pittsburgh. Mattheson if he repeats his season as last year, will be looking for an 7-9M deal in 26-27, so I am okay dealing him for Letang as he would be 2 yrs only, maybe a 3rd or 4th depending on how team is doing for playoffs.

35. I would have liked the Habs to get Letang back when he signed his current contract. However, he wanted too much for it to make sense for the Habs. Unfortunately, getting Letang now makes even less sense, unless the Pens give him away and retain some of his salary. I can't see the Pens doing either.
