Go Sens Go
Detroit is likely, Ottawa less likely but still likely, Buffalo will not.
Buffalo the worst. I dislike Detroits D other than Seider. The 3rd line looks weak too. Ottawa could be sneaky good with studs at all 3 positions in F, D and G.
Senators lack 4 liners and 3rd pairings, Wings lack goaltenting plus center depth and the Sabres also have holes in defense. It’s gonna be who avoids injuries and gets hot early.
Owen Power is listed has 35?! Wow didn’t expect that. Also, I feel like Ullmark’s number will go down a bit this season just cause the Bruins were so good defensively.
Buffalo with an actual coach instead of bargain basement first time nhl coaches.
Sens
Detroit for me
If detroit gets 1 more center via trade or something they’re gonna be super nice
How are these scored?
Sabers are the only of the 3
Wtf happened to the sabres?? Thought they had better forwards than this
Detroit is too weak up in the middle in my opinion. If I had to pick I’d say the Sens cause they had the year from hell but personally don’t think any of them make the playoffs
sabres
It’s got to be the Sens!! GO SIOUX!!
Man, i’m bias but i feel like MTL should be in this discussion.
What is the projected value based off of?
Is it assumed y will jettison husso?
The problem for any one of these teams (and Montreal for that matter) is the division they play in. There are 4 teams that are simply better than any of them in the Atlantic. That gives them one wild card spot to compete for with the teams from the Metropolitan. Even if these teams improve, the division makes it very difficult to make the playoffs
Wow they’re all dog shit lmao. I’ll go goaltending and say Ottawa
God damn the Sabres offense is putrid.
Shoutout to Seider’s hair
Berggren will make an impact wherever he plays. Lots of people still sleeping on him.
It would be funny but also sad if none made it again. Atlantic is a tough division
Every year the Sens *should* be better than they actually end up being.
Detroit is the closest right now.
Buffalo and Montreal seem to be on track for building to a better future. Might still take them another couple years at least tho.
Who knows? With the parity and unpredictable nature of the NHL it could be any of them.
8 Mile Wangs
Perron 77 but Norris 68 ?? Zucker 82 but Quinn 50 ?? Power 35???? DeBrincat 93 ?? Compher 39 ??
Those numbers are not serious
I mean i feel like the Sabres are an absolute black hole right now so i don’t see them making it. Ottawa is looking better this year, and even though Detroits defence is atrocious i feel like they’ll make it if any of them do.
Not answering your question but how do you pull this chart? I usually make a giant spreadsheet with possible line pairings for the next season and this would really help me out. Is it because youre a paid subscriber?
Also, I really hope the Wings can make the playoffs. Idk if OTT and BUF have the locker room experience to get there. This isn’t about skill to me, it’s about team comp.
I don’t know what those numbers are based on (I’m guessing offensive output), but they definitely don’t represent real value.
Seider at 63? With respect to Dahlin, Seider might be the best D on that group. Over 200 hits and blocks, with 40+ points, AND the toughest D assignments in the entire NHL, AND similar production to Dahlin 5-on-5. Dude is an absolute beast.
Fuck these numbers. Sabres baby. This is our year boys!!!!
Fuck last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that!!!!
Red wings might get a wild care the other 2 no chance. Detroit has 2 lines, the others have 2 NHL level players
I’m confused what statistics they are using to determine value here.
How can a player like DeBrincat be a 93 with his own teammate Lukas Raymond who is more defensively capable than he is and who has more points being 82.
Or a player like Seider who is a very complete very unique defence who only has a value of 63, while apparently Jake Sanderson has a 93 when he is inferior in most categories except +/- which is a team stat that Detroit players certainly weren’t doing well at last year.
Then you got a player like Gregor at 66 somehow, Batherson having 7 more points than Raymond while being just completely all around a worse player as seen last year.
I understand why buffalos players are rated so low, all around they really didn’t have a good season last year but the Sens and Wings had a pretty similar season last year so it’s really interesting the people making this data up ranked Ottawa’s players so much higher than everyone else.
Like literally just direct compare the stats and these decisions just don’t make sense. Larkin was over a PPG while being a total two way guy, and he gets a rating of 91. Keep in mind he is also a centerman and the captain. He would have also played a lot more games if, you know, Joseph and Kelly weren’t the best WWE tag team in 20 years.
Compare that to Brady Tkachuk who was under a PPG, has a lower +/-, is defensively able but not as defensively able as Larkin and is well known for doing stupid stuff and putting his team down a man. Regardless of his dominant physical present that Larkin can’t compare to, 98 to Larkins 91 points is ridiculous.
So again, what are they scoring on? It doesn’t make any sense.
It’s also funny because according to this list, Tyler Motte is only slightly less valuable than Zucker, Tuch, and Raymond… you’re kidding? Raymond is a legit first line superstar, Zucker is a legit middle 6 player, and Tuch is a top 6 player and then apparently they are all only slightly more valuable then a career bottom 6 player who’s only value is on a checking line or the PK. That’s hilarious.
They talked about the same last season and the Red Wings proved they were the better team. Don’t see it changing this season. So I suspect the Red Wings have the better shot. Tough conference though. Btw, the 63 for Seider is all BS.
Whomever made this clearly thinks/hopes/bet Buffalo. No chance that goaltending tandem is anything above 50. That defence is horrendous. McLeod will not duplicate Oilers stats.
neither
Why the disrespect for UPL? Is Ulmark and Lyon for that matter that much better goaltenders? UPL was absolute lights out the second half of the season.
Any of them could.
Buffalo has so much talent but I don’t fw ruff at all. He won’t get them where they should be. I’m guaranteeing it. Ottawa has been “sneaky good” for like 5 years now. At this point they have to prove it before I would ever choose them to make the playoffs. Detroit is in purgatory. Who knows what will happen. Probably not do better than the other 2
Buffalo…no shot. (sad to say, as I’m a huge Kevyn Adams fan.)
Detroit…long shot. I’m starting to really like this team, though. They are fun to watch.
Ottawa…maybe. Depends on defense. Noah Gregor is a great add. Love the way he plays.
No Kulich? Xxxxx Samuelson plays with Dahlin! Xxxxx. Benson plays with Tuch.
Ottawas in, the rest are not!
Here’s my prediction
Sens make it to the playoffs and face the leafs in the first round, after puck drop for game 7 Carey Price and the Habs enter the arena like a WWE match, where they beat both Sens/Leafs at the same time.
That offseason the Sens are forcibly relocated to Quebec City and with 0 points in the playoffs Marner is made mayor of Toronto after he signs a team friendly 19×8 AAV deal.
