[Canucks] Podkolzin traded to Edmonton for 2025 4th round

Damn, this is a surprise…..
But why?
yeah the second we signed Sprong I knew he was gone
pick is Ottawa’s
EDIT: price is so low because Podkolzin is no longer waiver exempt, we would’ve lost him at the start of the season for free so at least we were able to get a draft pick
Huh?
Not mad he’s traded, I’m mad he’s going to Edmonton
No shot
What the fuck is this shit?
you have to be kidding me that he’s only worth a 4th… I’m so bummed.
Edited to add: and to Edmonton too makes this even worse.
I swear we have 3 good first round picks in the last 15 years
A lot of people thought he’d be on the 4th line for the Canucks this year. This one’s a head-scratcher for both teams
Giving up on another young guy 🤦♂️
This group for the best part gets the benefit of doubt..
But what an absolute AWFUL trade on many levels.
ugh… SJ, ANH, Chi couldn’t match this weak sauce?? why the oilers!!
This might be cope, but he must’ve requested a trade behind the scenes… right?
I don’t hate the return, but I hate how we traded him to Edmonton of all teams
I thought he was worth more than a 4th round pick to be honest
Yeah, not too shocked by this. He wasn’t working out and I doubt other teams would’ve offered much more. Wish things worked out differently.
Why Edmonton of all teams lol
This will be a classic regretted trade for the Canucks…
Going to assume this means the Oilers aren’t matching for Holloway
Bit confused by this trade to be honest but still trust the process
Confused
Bad trade. Unless something bigger is coming up?
Another Benning special. His drafting acumen was so damn overrated.
I don’t know why people are surprised by the price. He had 2 points in 19 games last year. Emotionally, I don’t like the move. I really wanted him to succeed in Van. Practically speaking, it opens up more cap space and another roster spot. Also, does this mean the Oil are walking on both Holloway & Broberg?
Kind of feel bad for the guy, the previous regime was so bad at developing players maybe a new team will help.
What?!
There has to be a corresponding move right??
🤮
This feels a bit underwhelming. I’m sad he went to Edmonton.
Man, this sucks 🙁
Bizarre trade for both teams to be honest.
Why did we make this trade?
Why
He now joins Loui Eriksson in my “why the fuck do I own this guys jersey” collection
The Canucks are trying to get ahead of losing him on waivers for nothing.
Odd they opted to re-sign him to a 2 year, $1 million contract before the end of the season if they didn’t want to keep him.
They must be clearing cap space for a move.
wtf why? Would rather get nothing then to give players to EDM
I’ll bet edmonton flips him with Ceci, or kulak to get the room to sign their rfas
Wtf
My heart doesn’t like this trade 🙁 but I get it… I wanted to him to succeed in Van but he’s only been a fringe NHL’er for us.
Another bust.
And just like that, all the Russians are gone
What the truck?!
I guess management thinks he won’t make the team and won’t make it past waivers
Wtf
He was going to end up on waivers, tough call… anyone but Edm
I knew he was done here. But I’m a bit annoyed that this is likely a precursor to another trade that helps bail the Oil out of their offer sheet situation.
Understandable, guess that means EDM is most likely not matching those offer sheets
It’s interesting what he’s worth in the league to me.
I’m not angry about it or anything, but I’m a little shocked. It must be a home team bias but I always saw some potential in him.
At least we were able to get something for him instead of losing him for nothing on waivers.

Sucks it had to be Edmonton tho
