Interesting, Demeco really likes him.
WHAT? God I just hope I’m wrong right here but why did we miss out on Simmons to have Ward here. Almost the same price but is 3 years older with less talent. Of course real texan fans know he was injured half the last 2 years and is 33 years old.
What is Nick up to?
I…don’t like this personally. Ward is a good player but he has not been healthy enough to be extended. If he stays healthy I’ll eat my words, but I think this move can backfire as well.
Ward is good when he’s on the field and he gets the guys into place, but he’s always hurt.
I love Jimmie, but this smells like Lance McCullers extension to me
I think the worries are overblown and that this is a good move. We have issues with depth at Safety and this shores that up for at least another year while we continue to draft and improve this group.
Makes sense, Pitre is probably his successor at that position but we can keep them both in the field thanks to Pitre playing nickel. If Ward goes down, you can move Pitre or Murray to SS if needed.
I think this is a good move the more Bullock can learn from Ward the better.
