Aging basement team?
This speculation sounds like a lot of cope to me. Good on the kid. You didn't know what the future holds. Guaranteed money is a lot more real than any potential things. Not to mention he'll get more minutes and opportunity to develop in the new place if you want to look forward.
Send perry to the ahl to help develop the next kids and grab Nick Cousins for a year
Yeah he is drying his tears on the newfound opportunity he will receive and the larger checks.
I don’t know man. You go from playing with Leon to some unproven draft player. More minutes, but if no one good is feeding you the puck then? He thought he was under the microscope in Edmonton? Holy Fck is he ever now in St Louis..
seems some fans need him to regret this for some reason, but he looked thrilled in his St Louis presser. more money, more ice time, chance to play top 6. of course he was sad to leave home, but that does not equal regret. hes stoked for a chance to play more and continue his growth.
vibe im getting : oilers fans think he made the biggest mistake of his life | Rest of the NHL thinks the kid made a smart move for his personal self
Calling the Blues a garbage team when they finished ten games over .500 is wild.
An aging basement team….
First of all the first post gone over in this video is completely wrong.
The Blues A. Aren’t a basement team. They were the last team to miss the playoffs in the west.
B. They aren’t an aging team either. They’re in the middle of rebuild/retool and have like 14 players under the age of 25 with prospects still coming.
C. The Oilers are literally the oldest team in the NHL
In the NHL Network video you showed he seemed fine to me. The other interview video with St. Louis media I did notice something. There was a moment when it looked like realized the difference between EDM & STL media between the level of detail they know. Like when DH explained where home is cuz they didn’t already know where that was. Then when he talked about how diehard the fans are. They was a moment where it looked like he realized what he left. I wouldn’t say he regrets though.
Where would have Holloway fit in the lineup anyways? Mcdavid, Hopkins, Hyman, draisaitl, skinner, arvidsson, kane, henrique, Perry. 3rd or 4th line? Blues may provide more of an opportunity for his career. It must have a been a tough decision for him to sign the offer sheet, to leave a contender and alberta.
He'll flourish in STL
This isn’t new for St. Louis. Signing free agents is hard because no one wants to live there, however when the blues (or cardinals) trade for someone they almost always want to stay. It’s a great place to live and play. Holloway is probably upset now but will end up loving it here.
Dylan CAN'T WAIT to get to StL & Play for the Blues..👍🏼⛸️⛸️
Broberg looks the least excited but that could just be their personality. Who wants to stay in an organization that doesn’t have a spot for you and it minimizes your growth. This is going to help their careers and give them the minutes they couldn’t get in Edmonton
Blues are not a basement team, we were only 6 pts out of the playoffs last year with a mediocre team.. I assume they will be better this year… Just saying.. it's not like they are the Blackhawks..
Perhaps also living in sunny ☀️ edmonton is not on everybody's bucket list
Perennial cup contender? One year ain't 'perennial'.
Funny, but I'm only hearing regret from Oilers fans.
The amount of copium oilers fans are exhaling
2:53 Aging basement team? The Blues are super young compared to Edmonton. They’re likely to be very competitive in a few years. Are Edmonton fans completely delusional? The only part of the Blues that you could say are old is their defense yet most of those guys will be gone in a couple years when the Blues prospects/young players are all more developed.
