Pity rub
ND is a good hockey program, Fischer has some decent upside for being a 5th rd pick. Sure they arent Michigan or Wisconsin, but they do produce quality talent
Rubs guys out lol…..love the potty humor
It never hurts to show a GM you aren't looking to fleece them.
We haven't seen the last of this between the two organizations. I'm not an Oilers or Blues fan, but a 3rd round pick and a prospect with an AHL ceiling would not make me forget losing two NHL caliber, young, bottom positioned players, who were both very servicable in the playoffs.
The Blues probably know retribution will be coming. I.E. Jake Neighbors, or even their UFA's next year
Ur pitiful
So the Oilers are friends instead of enemies with the Blues that stole their players opposite of an alleged NHL code. The Oilers trade with the Blues is embarrassing and ODD. Stan BUMman will destroy the Oilers. Good job talking about the oddity of this trade or lack there of. Oilers acquire a 3rd and a bum prospect from the Blues. BOWMAN = NHL BOZO THE CLOWN! HONK HONK!!
P.S. the Oilers have 2 open spots on the right side of the defense with Broberg and Ceci gone. CRAZY BOWMAN! Oilers = CURSED
The Oilers may need someone to rub puck carriers out. The Oilers is looking ahead. Fischer will showcase himself at the young star tournament.
Pity trade? Yeah… things like that don't happen in multi billion dollar business. Something you'll learn when you make it out of grade school.
Oil gonna offer sheet Neighbours next year…jus to return tha favour….
The blues are over paying so i dont see a problem
It's a peace offering
This is silly. Edmonton could have matched w Kane on ltir. They called St Louis instead and got then to sweeten the deal in exchange for not matching the offer sheets. It’s not a fleece bc Edmonton doesn’t want those players at that cap hit.
Stan Bowman explains why he😢acquired this player.
Always sucking Edmonton scraps. Look back in history… Brett Hull anyone? St. LOSERS ONE CUP CHUMPS.
You are dilusional and quite raised by a single mother like.
Oilers going for a cup, freeing up precious cap space to get established players, this move will hurt in the future tho
Broberg is not worth 4.7mil, he hasn't played a full season in the NHL and not long ago asked for a trade out of the organization, he would never be an oiler long term anyways. Holloway could have been kept, but oilers have a lot of forwards
Pity trade? Figure it out legorocks99. Boman cleared cap space to keep Armstrong guessing. Then Bowman told Armstrong that the Oilers would match if there wasn't a sweetener coming their way.
Vancouver fan Vancouvers about the oilers
Armstrong literally said he would've offer sheeted his mother if she was a GM, so I doubt he is giving up a pick and prospect out of pity. Also, just saying you aren't trying to be mean doesn't excuse you for demeaning a player for the entire video. I really think you should re-watch this again and see if this video really represents who you are.
Edmonton wouldn't be able to match if they wanted to.
Edmonton can't overpay young RFAs.
There will be plenty of players available at the waiver wire, and I would rather pay Phil Kessel a million over paying a kid almost 3 million.
Edmonton isn't as screwed as you seem to think, and the new prospect they picked up, I'm sure, can play eventually. D men always take a few extra years to develop.
"PITY TRADE???"….Oh Good Lord Lego….Do you really think that's how it works?…St.Louis feels bad about overpaying a couple of Oilers prospects so HERE?….Hahahaha …..For the record, Broberg had ONE GOOD MONTH IN 5 YEARS!!!! in Edmonton….Holloway was a flash in the pan type, not good enough for Top 6, not tough enough for Bottom 6….Good kids, got a BIG payday, good for them…But for the Oilers???…Freed up Cap space, They will Flip all the picks they just got and probably Fisher too.
Geez you act like they robbed a bank. These guys both spent time in the AHL last year after being drafted in 2019 and 2020.
Plus they aren’t just getting a prospect and a third, they’re getting a second and a third in addition. Edmonton didn’t get 1st round pics though they were both drafted 1st rd because their offers didn’t rise to the level of 1st round compensation. There was a reason Edmonton didn’t counter offer. You just sound silly.
You are the only one that mentioned this. Bowman threw a fit and said he wanted more. Armstrong patted him on his head and said, ok little buddy…here you go.
With the Ceci trade and Kane being put on LTIR, the Oilers had enough space to match. This wasn’t a pity trade, this was a ‘if you don’t want us to match, send us this.’
So it’s more like Broberg, Holloway for a second, two thirds and Fischer which is closer to a fair trade.
In the end, I think the Oilers win here. Blues overpaid for two players and Oilers now have more assets to improve their team at the deadline.
