The backup QB discourse is entirely divorsed from reality I feel. People are treating this like Madden rather than competitive sports where jobs are on the line. Teams (including the Vikings) value 6/10 QB play over 'young prospects' from their backup QB, and won't carry 3 QBs unless they really like the guy. None of these teams are going to be looking at Hall as a potential backup and no one is rostering him as a 3rd QB off the back of a couple of preseason games because they'd have to cut a WR6 or something that they like.
The only situation I can see where Hall gets picked up is if a team carrying 2 QBs has a season ending injury to their starter and Tannehill has already been picked up by another team. At that point you're probably looking at practice squads rather than trades because your season is over so there's no point spending draft capital on it.
