Give Mitchell time he's had fewer AB then Chourio it's still early
You weren’t kidding earlier today about doing it from the hotel room haha
Phfft. Wade Miley talking smack when my cat has contributed about as much to the brewers team. I am a brewer fan, so come at me.
Well, disappointed in not getting the sweep in Oakland. I know Murphy would love to not have to play in the Wildcard round. Picking starters for game 1 and 2 like last year, is going to be tough if it's only a "best of three " series.
Disagree with nullifying the surprise element of the batting order. It makes it too easy for the opponents to prepare. The Dodgers might play with a static lineup, but Murphy is smarter than the Dodgers. It's not just a surprise element, it's about using ALL 13 players in the best possible way. If you never let your bench players get key opportunities in games, you won't be able to count on them ever. Another reason is finding the highest potential niche for each player. What Murphy is saying without words is, " I have confidence in you. I now need you to deliver." Murphy's not going to be phased by the first slump someone goes through. You need better alternatives at this point in the season if you want someone replaced.
"44-16 with Bauers in the lineup", wow. Didn't know that and wouldn't have guessed it. Good find Chuck!
Nick Mears needed to be cut after two bitterly failed back to back outings. So, lol, yes, it was the phantom injury, that pops up. Someone on twitter called this. I was saying DFA, but the phantom injury routine allows the Brewers to keep possession of Mears. I suppose that's a good thing to make it look like the Brewers didn't just throw away 2 promising prospects. Yikes, don't think Murphy wants him back. Again, Elvis Peguero might be better. And yes, I agree with the commenter that Murphy needs to realize you can't put Peguero in with inherited runners. Aaron Ashby, seems to have found something though. He only got called up because he pitched 5 scoreless inning in Nashville, one inning per game. Ashby might be able to pitch one or two inning of relief instead of starting. My question is, why did it take so long to find this?
Let me help you out there a little Chuck, the Phillies host Houston this week, and the Dodgers host Baltimore this week.
Devin Williams??? Need more information before I can really say anything.
I see a lot of Tyler Black and Frelich in Mitchell. People who draw a lot walks don't necessarily succeed in the bugs. Pitchers are too good and work the edges. You need to swing more.
Churio struck out a lot, but he didn't take pitches clearly in the strike zone. That's what I want
Back home with Giants. Will be happy with 2 & 1 but hoping for a sweep.
We're 5 & 9 in the last 2 years and they manhandled us in the wins.
Still going strong even with Yelich out injured.
C.B. Bucknor had a terrible 4th inning. He changed the flow of the game and Montas never recovered.
It's a contradiction to support public funding for stadiums and then moan about cheap ownership. Why would an owner spend money when he knows he can extort the taxpayers? Helping fund their playgrounds is what gets you a majority owner that chooses to spend on a soccer team rather than improve his primary product. Guys like Mark know all they have to do is maintain a wild card level of talent and the sucker fans will keep buying the tickets and merch. With some dumb luck, you might sneak into a World Series even. We've resigned ourselves that they won't pay Adames. That is inexcusable. Would the Cardinals and their similar market size pay up for Adames if they were in this situation?
My prediction is 92/93 wins? Will that be enough to be a first or second seed?
Chuck, the 1,2 and 3 hole went down 1,2,3 in all three games of the A's series, other than a Contreras walk, first time thru the order. Second innings netted 10 runs over the three games. Tell me again how your analytical perfect batting order makes any difference. Sure there are batters who struggle and should be 7th or 8th in the order, but…
