If you want to feel somehow even worse after our shit performances. I’ll leave you with this.
Ramon Laureano hit a 2 run double for the Braves tonight in the 10th inning vs Duran and the Twins.
Ramon. Fucking. Laureano.
Even he’s hitting better than we are lol.
The Guards stink and are chokers. It’s football szn.
According to @JeffMLBdraft on X (Locked On Guardians podcast/Guardians reporter)
“If my data is correct the last 5 players Cleveland has drafted or signed and develop to play 2 full years with Cleveland as a starter appearing in over 100 games
Steven Kwan
Jose Ramirez
Francisco Lindor
Jason Kipnis
Lonnie Chisenhall”
That’s just atrocious. What makes it even worse is the Guardians are going on year 3 of “playing the young guys” and Steven Kwan is the ONLY guy worth a fuck that’s come out of all this.
Top prospect guys like Brayan Rocchio and Tyler Freeman have quickly batted their way out of the lineup next year.
Former top OF prospect George Valera is out of options next year and the FO refuses to give him a look. (Edit: the FO gets somewhat of a pass with Valera as he has been made of glass over the last 2-3 years which really clouded his development)
Former top prospect Bo Naylor is in the 1st percentile in xwOBA which puts him in the discussion for worst hitter in baseball this year in his sophomore season.
Former No. 1 prospect in the system Nolan Jones was traded and who knows how he will pan out as a pro.
The drafting/signing/development of position players matters and this FO has been absolutely dreadful going back 5-7 years, and it is insanity that we act like we are so fucking lucky to have them.
Honestly, did not think the Royals would be this good this year. Felt like the Twins were destined to win the division. This is the most competitive the AL Central has been in quite a while.
There’s no way we get swept at home right?
Welp, it all comes down to today. Can this team get their heads above water for one 9 inning game and take back the division lead, if only for the moment?
If they roll over into a 4 game sweep loss, I think you can close the book on 2024. Next week you get the Royals and Dodgers on the road. That would be an absolute death march following this.
