Won the series against Milwaukee, won the series against Minnesota, and split a 4 gamer against Mike Shildt’s Padres.
We’re so back
Yay! We won!
Oli Marmol went 4-3 vs. Mike Shildt this year.
I’m still pessimistic about our chances overall, but if you told me coming into this series that we’d get a split, I’d be happy. Who knows, maybe there’s some magic down the stretch
I mean…that’s two in a row.
Helsley is now above 2 WAR on the season and MLB the Show has still dropped his rating each of the last two updates for diamond dynasty. He’s at a 77 now.
It’s so much easier to win a game when your starting pitcher only gives up 1 or 2 runs.
Kind of obvious, but the offense was actually pretty consistent in the series, scoring 4 runs 3 times and 5 once. The reason we won 2 of them was our starting pitching was good those days.
I hope we sweep the Yankees, not bc I think it will get us back into the postseason race, but because it would be really funny.
At first we had Tommy and life was good.
Then we lost our Tommy but got a new one and for a short bit, it wasn’t as good, but it was good.
Then Tommy was not good
And now there is no Tommy left. I miss Mr. Edman. He hit a triple the other night too.
I heard that Ozzie Smith gave Masyn Winn some coaching during Spring Training.
Is that the reason that Winn has been playing so well? He’s good in the ways that Ozzie was good – a great fielder, and a reliable contact hitter who can occasionally hit home runs.
He’s not S-tier good like Ozzie, but he’s still great.
Well the Braves aren’t collapsing like everyone predicted so even if we catch the Mets and Cubs, outlook isn’t good.
Blessed be the return to the land of the living for Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt.
It’s probably too little too late, but it is refreshing to watch Goldy and Nado play above the worst ball of their careers to close the season.
So Mo and the gang are going DFA Armstrong and Pham. That means we gave away Edman and Carlson for NOTHING.
The DeWitts must be fools to continue on with such shoddy management.
And the fan goes wild
Yay! A BDay winner!
I missed most of it. Should I make that a trend?
Probably because the Cardinals have been mediocre, but seems like Masyn Winn gets no attention from national media. Or maybe everyone loves sluggers instead of a light hitting defensive shortstops
Jackson Merrill gets all the love, and is seen by many as the NLRoTY front runner, but if you just look at WAR
Merrill 4.0 fWAR, 3.5 bWAR
Winn: 3.4 fWAR, 4.6 bWAR
I mean I think Winn should at least be mentioned
And somehow Chourio is the 3rd favorite for RotY, and Winn is not even in the top 5
Chourio: 2.8 fWAR, 3.0 bWAR
What was the announced attendance today? Did it look worse than the night games this week?
