1. The only reason the Habs aren’t #1 is because the Habs have all but 5 players already on the team, Laine, Suzuki, Caufield, Newhook, Slaf, Dach should be part of the team long term (assuming Laine works out), which is stupid to think about, we’re still waiting for Hage, Demidov, Lane(this season), Reinbacher, Mailloux, Beck, Kapanen and many other good players that will fill the bottom 6 in the later years. In terms of overall future the Habs easily have the best track forward even after SJS fully develop what they have currently, the sharks currently have Celebrini, Will Smith, Sam Dickinson and Askarov which mind you is an incredible prospect pool that deserves top 3 easily, but judging by overall future the Habs have just set themselves up so fucking well that they will have top 6 level guys but climbing into the bottom 6 because of how deep this team i and going to be, sharks don’t have that yet, they have a 1C a 2C a potential 1D and 1A starter, good foundation, but not nearly as stacked as the Habs are

8. Montreal hasn't been able to sign a top UFA over the years so acquiring Laine now gives them the opportunity to re-sign him once he lights up the lamp. Ex teammates including Adam Fantilli have said how good a teammate he is so his issues were purely health related. IMO if he hadn't had issues, he would have been impossible to sign as a UFA given they don't come to Montreal. Kudos to Hugo and MSL for doing their due diligence and taking a chance on him! What an opportunity!

16. Montréal have adopted a very different approach in the out of the ice, situation. For a guy like Laine that need to be supported outside the ice, so he can stay healthy, mind and body, it's the best place nowadays. He may even call Chantal, mom, like some of the players in the team do. He will do fine.

19. I am a big fan of the man Slafkovsky and, I like the way he plays hockey

20. people forget four years ago Laine lost his father all of a sudden with no illness history. combine with the terrible leadership Jets had and the terrible leadership jackets had, he still was almost a point per game player. In the current locker room of the Montréal Canadiens, I think he can shine very bright.

27. Most impressive in that prospect pool to me is not the top end (to which i include Hage) it's all the other guys : Beck, Kapanen, Engstrom, Sawyer, Roy, Florian Xhekaj, Mesar, Struble, Konyushkov, Miller, Dobes, Koivu, Volokhin, Eriksson, Vecvanags, Protz, Rohrer, Perreault etc
    So many kids with NHL potential down the line. San José might have a couple maybe higher potential ceiling kids, but they don't have this rich a pool and don't have this strong a support system like our Habs have under the supervision of Rob Ramage.

28. One laine is not the 3 men line. Don't forget cole, nick, and slav, now this is a no.1 line, this 8 million laine duck is on the 2nd line

    Vincent is just 7 feet tall and 650 lbs
