  1. I recall this like it was yesterday and almost nobody had Slav in the top 3 … It was Wright, Nemec, Cooley ! I was wishing they take Slav and when they did i was practically the only one cheering for this guy… i seen the pre-draft interview on Wright and i didn't like his cocky attitude thinking that he was going to be drafted 1st… And when he done the eye stare at the MTL table, i knew then that this guy didn't have the right attitude to be a part of the Habs, not in my book anyway… i also was hoping they take Tkachuk but was extremely disappointed when they took KK…

  2. Maybe it’s because I’ve only seen Wright play games against the Sharks, but he looks pretty good to me! Controls the offense whenever he’s out on the ice. The points will come.

  3. Who knows how he’ll be until he plays a full season and gets decent ice time. But it’s going to be delicious if he breaks out and everyone has to eat crow 😂

  4. If Seattle puts him on the 4th line, then they wasted their own pick. If they give him a chance in the top six with a look on the powerplay, and he can't do the job, then that's on Wright. Give him a real look though.

  5. Fair enough. Labelling yourself
GENERATIONAL means you are pumping your own Tires BIG TIME!!!……Not even McDavid has ever called himself a "Generational Talent"…..BUT….Let's look at the numbers…He has ONLY PLAYED 16 NHL GAMES TOTAL!!!!,,,,,And has 5 Goals in that time.
At that pace of 5 Goals every 16 games, that equals 25 Goals in 80 Games…..That's not terrible for a first full year NHL guy.
And that is assuming he hasn't become better in the last 2 years and will not be given Top 6 Minutes and 1st Unit Powerplay time.
Those 16 Games were also under a very defence minded Coach like Haksoll…."Generational?"…Maybe not.
But at least a 25 goal man with a lot of upside to far exceed that?….Why not?….Let him play a full year in the NHL before we "Wright" this kid off….(haha…Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.)

  6. Is Shane Wright eligible for the Calder Trophy in 24/25? Seeing people talking about it, but I googled the criteria and it says "To be eligible for the Calder Memorial Trophy, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league.". He played 8 games in 2 seasons, right?

  7. For Shane Wright to produce 48 points….likely has to be on the second line minimum to have a remote shot. Mind you, although he was #1 by central scouting there were caveats about it as there were some cracks in his game during the year leading up to the draft and his combine was not that exceptional. Should not call yourself a "generational player" unless you been noticed since peewee league and all the way up to world juniors.

  8. I think Shane Wright is going to surprise a lot of NHL fans. When he was called up last year, he lit a spark in the team, offensively. He would have stayed with the big club if we were in contention. When he was on the ice, it looked like he was elevating everyone around him. 5 points in 5 games, including 4 goals. And that was while NOT playing with our first 2 lines.

  9. Shane is NO generational talent. The issue with Shane lies in between his ears. All the teams that interviewed him realized that he's a legend in his own mind, minus the work ethic, and that's because he believes he "deserves" the accolades/ice time/first round draft position.

  10. Wright is still gonna be a very good player. Not generational but he'll be a top line player. The way he played in the AHL playoffs was impressive. I think Seattle is handling him properly. He'll be better for having to work his way into the league.

  11. As a Wings fan, how could you forget Yzerman in your list of Canadian generational talent players?
That aside, hopefully Wright breaks out but coming from a Wings fan again, we know what it's like seeing a guy not do what he was projected to do.

  12. Problem is people tend to think it's all or nothing. He was highly regarded and he probably doesn't attain what people expected. I think Shane Wright is still likely be an NHL player. He's a pretty good AHL player. His production reminds me of Rafael Harvey-Pinard. I think he could be a pretty good NHL player.
Doug Wickenheiser was picked by Montreal over Dennis Savard and he had scored 89 goals and 170 points in 71 games in the western hockey league in his last year. He was expected to be a top ten NHL scorer. He ended up playing 556 games and was a half point a game player and a good solid NHL checker. But People couldn't get past their expectations for him.
The equivalence for Wright was always Patrice Bergeron. It looks like he may be a very defensively responsible player and not as skilled offensively as Bergeron.

It's unfair to blame the player for your expectations. I believe Wright can give Seattle some youthful bounce and offense. Maybe forty points in sixty games in his first real shot in the NHL. Wouldn't be too shabby.

Jason Spezza was called a generational talent when he came up. Lot of people get saddled with ridiculous expectations.

  13. Toilette Seat fans stop being obssessive with Wright and Michkov: Challenge impossible.🤣The rent free is crazy with these losers💀the next Sabres lmao

  14. Im unsubscribing- this is conplete horseshit. A kid- likely a future 90+ point star believes in himself and you jump on the troll wagon? Fah q- lego!!! Lifetime fan- probably 5k plus views on your videos- done!!! Youve always been bush league but picking on a kid whose try8ng to stay confident theough the ups and downs is next level troll. Tc guy…

  16. Future topline all star- lock for ppg- could easily hit for 90+ seceral times with a superb defensive game. The only people whining are the fabtasy nerds because "generational" tp them is a poont range. Theyre the same crowd qho call toeqs and bergeron overrated. They dont even watch hockey…

  17. He didn't say he was a generational talent. You sort of twisted the words of an 18 year old into that. And what's everyone's obsession with Shane Wright, especially in Canada? He was just the consensus #1 pick on everyone's list before the draft, and ended up getting picked 4th by Seattle, who has frankly done a great job with his development, especially considering they are an expansion team. No other team in the NHL would have treated Shane Wright so well, or shown this kind of restraint. You can't really blame any of this on Shane Wright.

This will be decided on the ice in the next 4-5 years. His stats are already better than Slafkovsky's, but he hasn't played in enough games yet to make a real judgement. Does Seattle even have a "4th line?" If they did, Gourde and Tanev might make it the best "4th line" in the NHL. No one even knows what the lines are going to be yet.

  18. I say under and like Lego said it depends on his playing time .. as a Habs fan I’m happy with slaffy he doing very good, I don’t wish any player bad mojo so hope his career goes as projected but don’t say generational talent till u can prove u are..

  19. I believe he will be under probably 35 – 40 points. I think he will start on 3rd line with the possibility of either moving to 2nd or 4th lines depending on productivity or lack of it. If he stays on 3rd or moves up to 2nd or down to 4th line will all be up to him on how he performs so its in his hands.

The Generational talent comment even if he was wrong I see nothing wrong with it because it just shows he had confidence in his ability to play hockey when he made it.

  20. lol your gonna talk about generational talent , go as far back as gretzky , but not include mike bossy , ray bourque or paul coffey lololol how young are you
