I have my doubts he’s actually 20. Lots of foreign players have fudged with their ages (looking at Albert Pujols). I hope I am wrong but until proven otherwise, I am gonna be skeptical.
rhys hoskins is the wild card ,, bases loaded one out strikes out.. he is supposed to be the veteran leader and lately not showing the clutch hitting necessary to win in the post season .. we will see but as of now not seeing it.
Ryan Braun was the best rookie and not really close, Chourio will be an absolute monster though in the future. 20 years old and gonna put a 4 WAR season is wild.
Notice how Murphy started Monesterio at 2nd base and Monesterio did score one of the runs. Then, Murphy replaces Monesterio when his team has the lead against the left handed pitcher, knowing it's more important to defend.
Without even watching the video yet, no. He has the most potential probably, but Ryan Braun had an incredible rookie season. P.S. I love you Chourio, never leave us LOL.
Churio is the next Hank Aaron, the 2 holes I still see is Ortiz and Hoskins, we cant have guys who are auto outs out there, we gotta at least have guys who can have good at bats
Churio is having a great year but hands down Ryan Braun was our greatest rookie ever how soon we forget. 113 Games, .324 avg 1.004 OPS 154 OPS+ 34 HR 97 RBI's ROY and in the MVP Voting
Didn't Ryan Braun slug something like 626 ? He was 24 though, so I think Churio might become the best Brewer ever. I think he's legit. He makes solid contact and hits to all fields. Also, with his elite speed, he'll leg out a lot of infield hits and avoid long slumps..
Great Game by Freddie. This is the guy that some peope predicted would be a Cy Young winner. Still too many non-competitive pitches. The day he gives me 8 scoreless with under 100 pitches, is the day I will announce he's arrived.
It's fun to be excited about a young guy. But like Jordan Love, folks better pump the brakes a bit. If Chourio is putting up comparable (or better) numbers the next couple of years, then we can be confident they have a star. He could just as easily be the next Listach.
@lockedonbrewers saw Listach yesterday managing in Charlotte (White Sox AAA) against our AAA Nashville team.

I'd like to throw out BJ Surhoff for "Pretty Darn Good" rookie season, 1987.
Seems like Freddie Peralta has smoothed out his delivery more consistently. I noticed thru the season when Freddie is herky jerky, lunging with his delivery he misses with his pitches badly quite often. Think 40 pitch innings…Last night he was smooth out of the gate, looked great, kept his pitch count managable, had a minor hiccup getting the last couple outs in the 6th but looks good for the home stretch. Might even call him our ace one day, never know.

Chourio has tons of potential and upside, but man to surpass Ryan Braun, that's a tall order. His rookie season was damn near legendary. But anyway, great game from Peralta. That's the Freddie we NEED down the stretch
