I was at this game and the crowd was pretty deflated right off the bat on account of a lot of these missed calls early on.
There are many calls that that are not counted. What kind of tone did it set for the brewers offense seeing Jackson get rung up on 3 pitches out of the zone? Now your going up there knowing that there is a chance your gonna get it called a strike so your opening up a bit more making shittier contact or striking out?
Does anyone have a season-long stat for which teams get screwed the most by umps?
Jomboy did a breakdown a few days ago about how the new style of catching can influence the umpires ball and strike calls. It was really interesting and made me pay attention to the catcher position on close calls.
It felt all night that there were bad calls and a really inconsistent zone. It felt like it went both ways, but the most important missed calls all went in favor of the Cardinals.
