  1. IIRC, didn’t the 2003 Tigers go on a mini run the last week or two of the season to avoid breaking the record?

  2. It’s been talked about a lot, and yet I still feel like it’s been underdiscussed just how bad they’ve been. I mean jesus christ.

  3. This isn’t quite right. This is what they need to do to avoid the record for the most losses. But if they go 9-10 and end 41-121, that will be a better winning percentage than the 1962 Mets.

The real chase here is the 1916 A’s, who went 36-117, for a comically bad winning percentags of .235. The White Sox need to finish 7-12 to beat that. If they go 6-13 or worse they will best not only the losses record but the winning percentage record.

  4. This ain’t right. If the Sox go 9-10 they’ll finish at 41-121 (.253). That puts them better than the ’62 Mets (40-120, .250).

  5. For the last few years we have almost had the worst team of all time. I hope they don’t fail us now

  6. White Sox have to go 11-8 in order to end 2024 (in a full season) with more numerical wins than the 2020 Dodgers did (in a 60-game shortened season).

  7. I fear the Angels will do Angels things for their 6 remaining games against the White Sox 🙁

  8. So basically “in order for the white Sox to not be one of the worst teams ever, they must simply be good now”

  9. I’ve watched 100+ white Sox games this season. It is unfathomable just how many things have gone wrong for the team.

The only two players who have positively surprised are crochet and (maybe) Korey Lee.

Lee managed to force his way onto the starting role because Maldy was so unbelievably bad.

Three key players all went down in a week,

    And virtually everyone else underperformed.

Almost every move getz made has hilariously backfired in pretty must the most explosive way.

  10. I thought I’d never see a stretch worse than the 29-94 that the 2019 Tigers finished on. The White Sox’s entire season has been worse.

  11. It’d be cool to see them set a new record but let’s be honest. They’re going to fail at even that and do just good enough for this season not to be memorable.

  12. I put $5 on the Orioles the other night on Draft Kings and the Sox won, so maybe if I keep betting against them, they’ll finally heat up

  13. We get it. They suck. Stop beating the horse. It’s been reduced to individual atoms.

  14. A season where there is a team without a home next year, and they aren’t the worst team in their league because the White Sox are this bad

  15. They will be lucky to win four more games, and that’s only because they have six against the Angels.

  16. Man you know their season hit rock bottom when the Red Sox take a series against them

  17. If the White Sox lose their next two games, they’ll be 81 games under .500.

Imagine being an entire half-season under .500.
