Say hello to the Columbus Clingstones, the Braves’ newest Double-A affiliate for the 2025 season.

The Atlanta Braves’ Double-A baseball affiliate moving from suburban Jackson, Mississippi to Georgia's Chattahoochee Valley will be called the Columbus Clingstones.

In a Friday night press release, Diamond Baseball Holdings, the owner of the Columbus ballclub, states that the clingstone peach is “one of the most popular varieties of peaches, named for its flesh that stubbornly clings to the pit, signifying the grit and determination the team will display on the field as well as an unyielding commitment to the community. Both the name and the logo embrace the peach as an iconic representation of the state of Georgia.”

  1. And every April 20th they rebrand as the Columbus Clingstoned with branded rolling papers and dollar cookies.

  2. So, they’re going down yonder on the Chattahoochee. Alan Jackson is just pumping his fist in the air somewhere.

  3. 🎵”*CLING-STONES! MEET THE CLING-STONES! THEY’RE THE MODERN STONE-AGE BASEBALL TEAM!*”🎵

  4. I’m still incredibly bitter towards the Braves for moving my childhood AAA team out of Richmond 😢

  5. We had a low A/summer college(?) team previously called the ChattAHoots with an owl mascot and that was so much better. You can see the river from the park they play in. There are like 3 peach trees in the whole city.

  6. I live ten minutes from the Biscuits, but I might honestly start driving from Montgomery to Columbus to watch Braves players.

  7. Braves really loving down the state of GA.

I think personally they should add academy teams and expand those into Alabama, SC, NC, and TN.

  8. I love the AAA Gwinnet stripers branding. I love the high-A Rome Emperors, but this is just a miss.

  9. Welcome to the ranks of being a minor league team named Columbus! The Clippers tip their cap to you!
