3. I dont see us signing Rantanen yet. But I will say. I believe all of the Laine Gally Anderson contracts expire in 2 seasons. That means in 2 seasons. We will have 21 million in cap space. We could get 2 superstars with that money.

5. If there is ANY educated wish for a trade we should be hyping ourselves up this early for next offseason.. it should be for Noah Dobson. 20. I find it absurd when people talk about signing big name UFAs next summer because it is an incredibly short list of players. Josh didn't show the entire list but Armia is in the top 20 and Petry was on the 1st page. Any of the 1's that are desirable are unlikely to be UFAs by then anyway and would be wanted by almost every team and would be a bidding war – except for maybe Crosby.

22. You can't get Rantanen & sign him if you're not going for the cup with the intent, the ambition and a fully built-for-it team to win it NOW.
    We're still too far from being there yet.
    Kent Hughes shall only go for such a top caliber player a year after having our current top prespects play their first full season together with the team. Too many of them are playing abroad or are still in the AHL/NCAA to NHL transition phase.
    2025 will be a summer of replacing guys like Dvorak, Matheson (who's simply too good not to get traded to a cup contending team), Armia etc
    The true "let's add a bona fide star or 2 to finally go for serious runs at the cup" summer will only be 2026.

    In regards to ppl saying we have a top6, this is absurd. If we have a top 6, form a great top 9.

If you think Sakic and company will let Rantanen walk you must be sniffing something really good ,,, they’ve been negotiating that contract all summer , don’t listen to Montreal media guys , actually go listen to Colorado media and see what’s really going on! 3 players that will never leave the Avs , specially with the cap going up , that’s Mac , Makar and Rantanen,,, PS when you see his contract you will be surprised again like the rest of the league that he will take less to stay put! Why not go after Mercer? Very good young player and still isn’t signed use those draft pics that you have so many , to get more!
