all part of the plan
1. They wouldn’t have fired Sean Payton after one year.
2. Fuck Staley
I do think about this sometimes. What if they’d hired Daboll instead of Staley?
What if they’d immediately fired Staley after the Jags game but retained Telesco? It was a crappy four years but I think Harbaugh was LA’s best case scenario.
This is the best time line for sure. I’ll take all the suffering again if it means Jim comes here.
I can’t even understand how this all aligned, but damn! I’m glad it’s turning out so well.
Yeah I really did not want Sean Payton. Idk why. But I feel vindicated almost every week the broncos play.
I can’t believe I was one of them – I had sworn that if Broncos + Payton won a SB before us then I would forever quit football. Thankfully I can completely drop that idea now.
Trust the process
I was thinking that headline today. So thankful and happy that Staley sucks balls.
As much as people hate on Spanos, he always gave his coaches 4 years (unless completely embarrassed like Staley). If you don’t, you end up like the Browns of yesteryear or Panthers now.
Changed the history of the Chargers forever with that move. Harbaugh will bring the Chargers a ring
Ah yes, it totally wasn’t Spanos being the usual cheap skate that he is.
I wanted personally wanted DeMeco Ryans. He helped the 49ers become a dominant defense again and being a former player helps that player-coach relationship.
I’ll settle for Jim but i need to see a legit passing game develop in the next 3-4 games
I want to believe this was the plan all along but I don’t believe Dean Spanos plays chess.
I’ve wanted Harbaugh for 10 years but I never actually thought the timing would work out. When 63-21 happened I was walking around Vegas telling people that I hoped Michigan won the national title and then Harbaugh would be free to join the Chargers. I still cannot believe all of that has happened.
I almost puked reading the first sentence, almost shuddered thinking wait what? keeping Staley??? WHATTTTT
I was so mad we didn’t fire him but so glad how it turned out. Can’t wait to win multiple super bowls
So happy it worked out and ill give us credit for getting harbaugh, but lets not act like this was all planned out
Remember when we drafted ryan leaf cause we knew he would suck bad enough that we’d have a good enough pick to draft the greatest running back of all time?
i do think there was a reasonable chance it would have happened if they fired staley after the jags game. he wanted the chargers job that year iirc and he was interviewing with other nfl teams. i’m still happy with the way things turned out though, he got his natty and we got our coach.
